Overview: very intimate dining experience with complete strangers. Foods great but loses on space and time on food prep.
The atmosphere in this place is like a run down speak easy, 4 man operation, 3 in the kitchen and 1 man to serve and take orders. It appears this place is very popular, but cannot handle the extra foot traffic when all “seats” are taken up inside and out.
I was sat right next to a window sill which felt like I was eating at an estranged cousins birthday party, lifting my plate off the window to eat on my lap. Not the greatest eating experience, but the food was great. Can’t fault it, but I would advise all to get here early or just move on if it’s packed. Waiting time for just a smoothie is 15mins on top of more waiting around for your food and/or starters. There’s other vegan restaurants that can take the extra foot traffic and busier periods with less hassle than this place.
Over all, 3 stars, foods amazing, atmosphere and eating experience is where this place looses out on when it’s busy, but great when it’s not. Great job for the 4 guys...
Read moreMe? Loving vegan restaurants? If you are starting to ask yourself those questions, then we are in the same boat. As I've gotten older, I've been trying to (occasionally) venture into a vegan restaurant, and been surprised that I actually enjoy the fresh clean feeling of the food. Vieta fits that bill, though perhaps at a level below what the 4.9 stars on Google would convey.
Do I love the concept of Vieta? Homemade, healthy food, at a really good price - yes, the answer is yes. Did I love the food itself though? Hmm I can't say I did, as something was missing from the flavor. The soup was quite bland, and other than the salad in the main, the dish was also lacking any major taste bud satisfaction. The smoothie also wasn't sweet enough. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong items, or it was an off day.
To sum up my review, would I come back? Yea, I'd probably give it...
Read moreJust here to confirm the high ratings. The food really is excellent. It’s honest, healthy, and has that homemade touch that’s hard to come by. The place was packed, which is usually a good sign when it comes to food.
They offer a dish of the day that includes soup, a choice between two mains, and a drink. The vegetable soup honestly brought my soul back to life. I’ll definitely return to try the vegan version of the cold pink soup next time.
A lovely surprise: the lady at the counter spoke Spanish, which was welcomed by me as it gave my brain a much-needed break from trying to get by in very poor Lithuanian.
In a world where we’re getting used to Instagrammable meals that often look better than they taste, Vieta stands out as real, unpretentious, and genuinely delicious. The service and atmosphere were just as lovely, the whole place feels cozy, warm, and...
