We recently visited Ponių Laimė in Vilnius Old Town. At first glance, the café really draws you in – the charming exterior and beautifully decorated cake displays in the windows make it hard to resist stepping inside. However, the experience didn’t quite live up to the first impression. We were surprised to find that after ordering coffee and desserts, we had to carry everything to our own table, very much like a canteen. For a café that presents itself as elegant and exclusive, you naturally expect table service and a higher level of hospitality. The prices are also on the higher side, which makes the lack of service even more noticeable. That being said, the desserts are nicely presented and the decorations in the windows are indeed worth a look. The displays change with the seasons, so it can be interesting to pass by at different times of the year – Christmas, especially, is magical. Tourist tip: If you are in Vilnius Old Town, it’s worth visiting once to see the festive decorations and try a dessert, but don’t expect full service. It’s more of a self-service café with stylish looks than a premium patisserie experience.

The decor outside this restaurant with natural spring flowers was really pretty. But the interior was underwhelming. Keep in mind this is a self-service restaurant. For a dessert restaurant I was expecting more, but the sweets were nothing out of the ordinary. The pistachio eclair I ordered tasted good, and the coffee was fine. I’d go elsewhere to be honest, but the location of this place is convenient, being at the center of the old town.

The cake is a little less sweet than elsewhere, that is a good thing. The coffee is very hot, that is also good. They have a huge variety of cakes, more than in most other cafes nearby. The atmosphere inside the cafe is average, despite its fame. There are other and and nicer cafes off the beaten tracks, in the side streets of Vilnius, if you dare to forget the usual tripadvisor guide for once and go on a discovery tour all by yourself.

Per brangu, neskanu ir visi pikti. Net kotletus sveria prieš parduodant, todel kainos klaidina, nes tik gerai įsižiūrėjus iskaitysi jog ten gramais kaina. Nepatogūs stalai, kojos netelpa. Dissapointed in everything. Firstly they weight the food, which means the price that are written gives you illusion that its for one portion. But its really not and you can hardly see that small note thats says its for 100g. Secondly, food is too expensive for bistro. For tree spoons of soup, and some small fish i got 6eur. Again wouldnt complain, but the taste sucked. And finally - tablea are horrible, you cant sit comfortably in them, legs just dont fit. And i...

Place is in very good location, and its really old, in good meaning. But I didn't like the service at all. It's self service but the thing is that it's not obvious at first time. And when we visited this place, all the waiters were hanging out at one part of this place chatting etc. They saw we come in, but ignored that until we come and call them.. It's not what I want to do in the cafe. Same story happened when we were leaving, another person come in and nobody reacts.. That's weird. But after waitress finally talked to us, she was friendly and nice.. I don't understand how it works. Food is...
