Secret Recipe Ampang Point — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

Extremely disappointed with the service at SR Ampang Point. I came for dinner, but unfortunately, my entire experience was tainted by the unprofessional behaviour of the manager on duty (in a black shirt). When I approached the counter to ask about an issue with ordering a cake through the system, she did not respond verbally. Instead, she proceeded to key in the order without acknowledging my query. When I further sought clarification on whether I could proceed with checkout, I received no response—just a straight face, no smile, and no courtesy.

I am unsure how she treats other customers, but based on my experience, I felt ignored and dismissed. This is especially disappointing coming from someone in a managerial role, who should be setting an example for excellent customer service.

Whenever there’s a birthday or celebration in my family, Secret Recipe is always our first choice for cakes. Over the years, this has given me the chance to try a wide variety of their cakes, and I can honestly say the quality speaks for itself — rich flavors, fresh textures, and consistency that never disappoints.

However, I’ve noticed that the menu has expanded to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. While I understand the idea of offering more variety, I personally feel that Secret Recipe’s true strength and unique identity lies in its cakes. They are what make the brand special and what keeps customers like me coming back.

My humble suggestion is to keep focusing on the cakes as your main highlight and not let the addition of meals take away from the quality, creativity, and reputation that your cakes have built...
