Mohd Chan Restaurant @ Ampang — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

Hi , This is one of your loyal customer. I have been going regularly to your 4 branches which is in Meru , Melawati , Shah Alam and Ampang.

I wish i have good review to share with you, but sadly for the first time today i need to make a complaint.

The last time i been to Ampang branch is 1 year ago, because i always go to melawati its nearer to my house.

so today at 8 pm i had dinner in Ampang Branch. Customer service was okay . but this are the things that happen :

5 min after we order, they send mopu tofu to us. without rice and without other dishes .

15 min in , mopu tofu is cold , my lemon chicken arrived. This is disappointing. I paid RM 28 for this and the chicken that I get is soooooo little. the palm of my hand are bigger. when i eat at melawati it was big and we can barely finish for both of us. but this , i think the portion is quater 1/4 that what it should be.

as your regular customer, i always order mopu tofu and lemon chicken. We never order anything else. so i know how it taste and look. Mopu tofu tasted soooooo different . and i cant see or taste any chicken.

I ordered Bbq chicken pau. 30 min after i ordered , it came, and it came STILL FROZEN. how i know ? i open the pau and the filling is still frozen. so i ask nicely to change for me.. 5 min i waited , THEY BRING THE SAME PAU THAT I OPENED .(didnt change to a new one. they just reheat) I lost my appetite, i didnt even touch it and i left.

5.when i wanted to pay, the offered to pack the pau 😫 which i refuse . and i still get charge for it.

This restaurant has been recommended by lot of my colleagues and friends. Even my family likes it.

But from my experience, there are some pro and cons for this place as well.

1. The atmosphere is quite relaxing and its almost the same as old town whitecoffee.

2. For ordering, they use a system where they provide you the menu, a paper to write your own order(code of food) and a pencil.

3. The staff is not quite attentive and aware of surrounding, which I had to call with slight loud voice to call them. But their service from take the order till give the bill is quite okay.

4. The food is quite good and some is okay. Totally recommended dim sum and I'm trying of other dishes in future as well.

5. The restaurant located at a place that very hard to find parking, and the surrounding area is quite heavy traffic especially during peak hours.

6. They accept lot of types payment. Either cash or cashless, you name it.

I can't give 5 star as certain food is not reasonable with its price but well. we live in a different part of the world and I can't...

We had a wonderful family dinner at Mohd Chan Ampang and were really impressed with the overall experience.
