한식당 The Korea Kitchen 더 맛있닭 — Restaurant in Borneo

Went solo so cant order much. But even a simple meal like its kimchi jjigae and kimchi was sooooo good! the kimchi i got served today was really fresh and crispy only to mean that it was recently prepared and has yet to ferment but even so the kimchi paste used to make the kimchi had the umami flavour that was missing in a few other korean restaurants here. And yes this place is still run by native koreans which probably answers why the quality was top. They have another lady waitress who speaks good local bahasa and mandarin.

Only one downside i felt from this place was the rice used were local grains (not the starchy round grains from typical korean restaurants) and that the alleys leading to the restaurant were rather dark.

Will definitely come again!

Stumbled upon this little gem while searching for a nearby seafood restaurant for dinner. Decided to try the Korea Kitchen and was glad I did. The proprietor who is a Korean himself was very welcoming and offered recommendations on what a solo traveller like myself should try.

I ordered spicy chicken with rice, kimchi pancake and was served with 3 generous portions of Korean side dishes. The food came pretty fast and they even asked if I wanted to refill my kimchi!

Had the Chuncheon Dak-Galbi Spicy Stir Fried Chicken for 2 pax to be shared with 3 person. Is enough. Level of spiciness is just nice for us. It's tasty, has a lot of veges and chicken meat, not much cheese and rice cakes. The side dishes are ok. It taste nicer with rice 👍🏼. I really enjoyed the taste.

Also had the Garlic Chives Pancake RM14. This one was crispy but doesn't taste like garlic chives. More flour taste, like cucur.

Had the makgeolli also.
