It's one of the most visited place for tourist to experience Kota Kinabalu. Famous for its night market where you can find a lot of things going on from vendors selling fresh sea produce, assorted fruits and vegetables, poultry products to spices. Even local come here to buy groceries for the variety of choices and cheap price. Don't be suprise even the vendors can speak well korean language since a lot of Korean tourist coming there too.. Really a great effort for them doing so. It looks more arranged and wider since the last upgrading for the market area. There's also lots of stalls selling diffrent kinds of dishes and fried food. You can get yourself freshly Coconut juice and other drinks selling there. As for the price it is reasonable. At the back of the area are stalls selling BBQ chicken wings and grill seafood..and for the seafood lover it's heaven to choose whatever your heart desire. Price May be vary but still reasonable. You can find souvenirs stalls along the area too selling from pearls accesories, key chains, shirts and many more. Even got instant tailor guys outside the stalls area if you need to get some quick fixing. Not to be left out is the dried seafood products market that's is really well known also for tourist especially from west Msia. They would buy a lot and the vendors will be gladly give them a good discount. They also expert in wrapping the goods so it won't be a problem at the airport. But need to remember they only accept cash.Parking is a bit problem and you might need to park further and doing some walking going there. Usually it's traffic too.Overall it's a good place to visit to experience the...

The Filipino Market in Kota Kinabalu is a wonderful place to visit. It is divided into sections: handicrafts, fruits, native snacks and fresh seafood. At night, a part of the market becomes a night food market. The people in the food market are actually nice but can be pushy. But no need to fear, just buy what you want. Do not buy what you don't want. The set meals at the night food market are affordable. 35 MYR for 2 people. You get 4 different dishes of shrimp, squid, fish and vegetables and 2 servings of rice. It is really good for its price. If you order fresh seafood to be cooked, then it is very expensive. You will be charged cost of seafood plus service fee. One dish can already cost you 70 MYR. So choose wisely. People are not dishonest, they can help you choose. Ask them how much everything costs before agreeing. The night food market can be smokey. It is muddy when in rains. If you are picky about places, this is not for you. Personally, i...

The handicraft market in Kota Kinabalu can be underwhelming if you’re seeking authentic, locally made crafts, as many of the items available are mass-produced imports. However, it is part of the larger market complex that includes vibrant sections for food, vegetables, and fruits, offering a variety of local produce and delicacies that reflect Sabah’s rich culture. If you have time, it’s still worth a visit for the overall atmosphere and the chance to sample traditional foods or purchase fresh, exotic fruits. For those specifically interested in authentic handicrafts, consider visiting the Mari Mari Cultural Village or the Sabah Art Gallery, where you can find traditional crafts made by local artisans. Additionally, the Gaya Street Sunday Market is a great spot to explore for more unique, locally crafted souvenirs alongside a variety of other authentic products. These alternatives provide a better opportunity to support local artisans and experience genuine Sabahan culture.
