KAK YAN — Restaurant in Borneo

Visited Kak Yan at Anjung Senja (Lot 15, Kota Kinabalu) for dinner and had a mixed experience. We ordered the Tomyam, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations — it had far too much cabbage, which overpowered the flavor and didn’t quite resemble the rich, spicy Tomyam we were hoping for.

On the brighter side, the steamed fish, octopus, and clams were fresh and nicely prepared. The seafood was definitely the highlight of our meal.

The location is great for a casual seaside dinner, and the overall vibe is lively and local. Service was okay, though the wait time was a bit long.
