Primal Steakhouse Saradise — Restaurant in Borneo

We ordered the Cajun lamb racks, which unfortunately were served cold. We did ask the kitchen to reheat the food for us, and it was better after that. Our second dish was the striploin, but it was not served together with the lamb racks. We had to wait an additional 25 minutes for my dish. While we understood that the restaurant was busy, it would be beneficial for the kitchen to improve and focus on getting the food served at the same time for each table.

On the bright side, the restaurant offered a creamy corn soup of the day for RM15. However, we were disappointed as it tasted like something we could easily get from a canned soup. It lacked the freshness and depth of flavor we were expecting.

Despite the shortcomings, we did enjoy a magic trick performed for us, which provided some light entertainment. However, the floor staff service fell short of our expectations. When I asked a waiter to check on my food, he seemed unaware of what I had ordered and simply stated that the kitchen was preparing it. How could he know without checking the details? Moreover, one of the waitresses responded rudely and loudly, saying, "apa dia?" when I asked her to check my order for the second time. It is clear that the restaurant should prioritize staff training instead of focusing on providing magic tricks.

However, we must acknowledge that the manager was nice and polite, which was a positive aspect of our experience. In terms of the food served the seasoning of the dishes was good, and our meat was cooked...

The food was fantastic10/10. I had the pleasure of indulging in a perfectly cooked steak, paired with fries and a fresh, crisp salad. The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor in every bite. The salad added a refreshing balance, with its mix of crunchy greens and a light dressing that tied everything together. The combination of textures and flavors was nothing short of excellent. For anyone who loves a hearty and satisfying meal, this is a must-try experience! i also enjoyed a delicious grilled salmon fillet paired with creamy mashed potatoes and a fresh salad, and it was a meal to remember. The salmon was grilled to perfection, with a crispy, flavorful crust and tender, flaky meat that melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were rich and velvety, perfectly seasoned to complement the salmon’s smoky flavor. The salad provided a refreshing touch, with crisp greens, juicy tomatoes, and a zesty dressing that tied everything together. The balance of flavors and textures was simply excellent, making this dish a delightful and wholesome experience I would highly recommend. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. The shop was a bit cramped. You need to booked in advance or else u won’t get ur tables since there are only few tables in the shop, and 3 tables outside the shop. Overall experience was great. Went here with my family for my sister's birthday with low expectations because it's really difficult to find good Western food in Kuching or Sarawak for that matter. Yet this place changed my perception, we had to sit outside because we didn't book beforehand but the service and the food, oh the food really took us by surprise. The lady who serviced us was professional to a standard that made us feel like we were in a high end establishment from giving recommendations to understanding how to handle wine and advice on food. Dish after dish I expected something to disappoint me but nothing ever did, the salmon was grilled to perfection, the beef was seasoned perfectly, the lamb was tender and juicy, even the pasta something which I didn't have high hopes for was done so well. The food and dining experience was so good that we ignored the fact that we had to sit outside but that wasn't much of a problem either because it was less noisy compared to indoors (It was a little dim tho, would be better if they installed lights outside) The downside about the primal I'd have to say is that the place is a little small and the price may not be for everyone as it is on the high side, but they do have a sharing platter for those who are on a budget.

Overall best place for meat for me in Kuching so far...
