📍Dong Guan Kopitiam, Jalan Irrawaddi
This is a picturesque location that makes a good attempt in epitomizing the 'Kopitiam' experience. Placed in heritage building, it is evident that the beautifully designed tiles have been preserved at its original state. Decorations which are 'Kopitiam'-themed are intentionally placed; biscuit tin boxes, rustic posters, and even the drinks are served in pretty yellow tin cups.
🍞The Butter Kaya Toasts was perfectly made, complemented by 2 half-boiled eggs. A simple classic, yet done just right. I enjoyed the Herbal Ginger Chicken thoroughly; it was rich in flavour and prepared at its best. Toasted Bread with Curry is another dish in the menu not to be missed.
Come and have a comfortable 'kopitiam' experience...

The service was quite good, seating was quickly assigned by the staff and food serving was incredibly fast within 7 minutes, almost like fast food serving after we placed the order through the web. Ordered the fried chicken nasi lemak, kaya butter toast, chicken slice soup noodle and the kopi(s). There are 2 storey and the table seating is not so...
Read moreThe food here was great, however I gave the place 3 stars because they have a mandatory 10% service charge added to the bill. This may be OK under some circumstances, but here they have implemented an ordering system where you scan a QR code and so have zero interaction with the staff and thus you get zero service for your 10%.
The QR code/smartphone method of ordering is redundant as it takes longer than the normal method involving human interaction. There were at least 6 waiting staff working during our visit and they were tripping over each other because they were all standing idle. As a result, I saw some ridiculous displays such as one person operating the till and another standing right beside them transferring...
