Zero stars or even less. 0000. Today 5th July 17, I went to the cafe again for my breakfast and order, but to my shocker, Nathan shoos me away stating he will not serve me. He says he is the boss and he will not serve me. Thats not just rude but shows amateur business man and a horrible person he is. May be because of the honest opinion I gave here earlier. Which was as follow; feedback for Nathan, the person i think who owns n manages the restaurant is rude and arrogant. Doesn't have decency of how to speak to someone who is waiting for his order for 20 plus another 20 mins as promised. Customers are asked to sit on the shabby tables which still have left overs from previous customers. When requested to be cleaned, he arrogantly answers I can't do everything. If we prefer to be standing he rudely says it will hamper his work. I have been here for almost 8 times now and this is what I get. He needs to learn ethicates on how to speak n manage a restaurant. Above all, this places serves some really delicious food and I don't want to take that away from the cook, who puts the efforts to cooks delicious food. Try once only...
Read moreThe quality of the food was overall good, but the attitude of the owners has ensured that I will never come back here.
It seems that the owner is better at replying rudely to genuine customer concerns than updating the menu (they do not serve baguettes).
I had hoped to take my mother here for a pleasant birthday breakfast. When she mentioned it, the response was a scoff.
Is it that hard to at least pretend to be nice to customers???
EDIT: Thanks for proving my point with your response saying you are not able to (pretend to) be nice to customers. You shouldn’t need to pretend to be nice to customers, but as you have shown you do not possess the ability to be genuinely friendly for your customers, I thought this would be something you could perhaps do, but I suppose not. I hope that that may change in the future. And, as it is obvious you spend a lot of time on your google reviews, please update your google menu, taking away baguette and...
Read moreI find that a lot of negative reviews here are simply unfair, particularly those about unfriendliness, etc. You are there to enjoy the food, not to make friends. The cook has already shown himself to you through his cooking. If you can't appreciate it, that's too bad. Because this is the most a chef needs to do to please anyone. On the other hand, if the guy is flattering but his food is bad. Will you go back? No! He's not your friend! The food is excellent not only because it's authentic but because almost everything has to be made from scratch. It is especially hard for decent western food in Malaysia nowadays. This little gem is one of the earliest expat-run food business in penang. It hasn't compromised its standard for a decade. A...
