Half Acre Restaurant, a Chinese-style eatery, offers an authentic and delightful dining experience that stands out in a sea of culinary options. Nestled in a bustling part of town, the restaurant provides a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. The menu at Half Acre Restaurant is extensive, featuring a wide range of traditional Chinese dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences. From dim sum to Peking chicken, every dish is meticulously prepared using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods. One of the highlights is the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), which are delicate and bursting with savory broth. The crispy, aromatic Peking chicken is another standout, served with thin pancakes, hoisin sauce, and fresh scallions, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Vegetarians will also find plenty of options, with dishes like Ma Po Tofu and stir-fried seasonal vegetables standing out for their robust flavors and well-executed preparation. The chefs clearly have a deep understanding of the spices and techniques that make Chinese cuisine so beloved worldwide. Service at Half Acre Restaurant is attentive and friendly, with staff members who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to provide recommendations based on diners' preferences. The restaurant’s ambiance is enhanced by tasteful decor that reflects traditional Chinese aesthetics, creating a warm and inviting environment. In terms of value, Half Acre Restaurant offers reasonably priced dishes that do not compromise on quality. Portion sizes are generous, ensuring that diners leave feeling satisfied. Overall, Half Acre Restaurant is a gem for anyone seeking an authentic Chinese dining experience. Its combination of excellent food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a must-visit for both locals and visitors. Whether you're a connoisseur of Chinese cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore, Half Acre Restaurant promises a memorable meal.

Just went there yesterday for a family get together dinner and it was far beyond my expectation. It's located at the corner of Straits Quay just beside the EnO visitor centre so it's easy to find. A very authentic yet traditional chinese restaurant. It's interior lines with traditional Chinese wallpapers and ambient lightings, adding warmth and soothing for the customers. We were told to make a reservation beforehand as it would be full very soon. For weekend's dinner, it is advisable to go just before 7pm to get a seat. With nice view beside the dock of yachts ⛵ , it surely offfers a picturesque photographic spot. It has a wide variety of choices from it's menu featuring fish ,chicken, pork, prawns 🦐, and much more. It's signature dish is its chicken (甕窯雞) 🍗 which comes with a salted spice powder and sauce to dip into the chicken meat. It's truly delicious! The other dishes we had as well were vege soup with salted egg and century egg which has a cooking wine aroma and a good choice of soup. The curry fish 🐟is tender and it has quite a large portion. The rice vermicelli with pork knuckles is also a must try. It's very tender and the noodles absorb all the juices of the braised pork knuckles. The salted egg fried tofu ( 黄金豆腐) is also labeled as one of their specialties with a crunchy crust and soft inside. Generous portions of salted egg paste were also layered on the fried tofu. There was also a seafood claypot dish with mushrooms 🍄 , broccoli 🥦 and braised pork hamstring. It's so mouth watering. The service was excellent and the food came quite fast though packed with people. The pricing is affordable and the portions are big, suitable for people with big appetite. A really must try restaurant!

I must say I had a disappointing experience. When I first walked in, I had high hopes, sitting outside semi al fresco was enjoyable and fun. Good view of the sea. Windy and cool. Interesting oriental decor. And the menu was quite extensive and gives the idea of possible repeated visits. Naturally, I ordered their famous baked chicken. Full credit to the chef for a tasty skin and mostly moist juicy meat. But I can't accept the fact that a baked chicken arrived cold. Also parts of the meat looked slightly undercooked. Strangely even the fried soft shell crab arrived cool. That the batter was also a little salty didn't help matters. Fortunately the sambal belacan gravy was delicious however I think the potato leaves were a little aged because it tasted tough. Luckily this dish arrived hot. When it came to the clay pot, fortunately I enjoyed the flavor and the contents. But again the gravy was thick as it had cooled down. Bear in mind I sat outside so we can't really blame the air con for chilling out the food. The view and the good air movement at a corner lot restaurant gave it a perfect atmosphere. The food generally had good flavours but the fact that it arrives cool and cold is just unacceptable to me. Especially when I came early when there weren't many diners yet.

Visited for 2nd time for celebration. The service was terrible.

Upon arrival, we were informed by the supervision to enter the indoor dinning table. There was a lady service crew who asked us any reservation made and why we are entering. Once we entered the indoor dinning area, she just let us to stand and wait for further instruction to check with supervisor which table to sit. Excuse me, we are blocking the entrance and why we can't stand outside until u have clear instruction to get us seated?

The lady service crew served us impolite, and showed her dissatisfaction attitude towards us. When we ordering the dishes and drinks, where the beverages is out of stock, instead of telling us in well manner, she just told me no stock and giving me the evil eyes.

Order list was thrown on the table and not placed on the table. Understand that every service crew was busy during dinner time, but please bear in mind, u are representing yr restaurant, why have to throw the order list on the table? And yet all the service crew still got free time to chit chat around.

This is a birthday celebration and I don't understand why my birthday cake is not served by the service crew instead of just put it on the table and let us to unwrap it while I have informed the service crew to help me serve the cake on the table.

Overall, this is a very bad experienced to dine in. Food and taste getting worst compare...
