Nestled in the picturesque Straits Quay, Real Food Restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone seeking delicious and wholesome dining options. From the moment you step in, the inviting ambiance and friendly staff make you feel right at home.
The menu is a refreshing blend of organic and natural ingredients, meticulously crafted to cater to a variety of dietary preferences. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or simply a lover of good food, there's something for everyone. The dishes are bursting with flavor, and it's evident that a lot of thought and care go into each plate.
I had the pleasure of trying their signature Real Food Burger, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The patty, made from a combination of fresh vegetables and grains, was hearty and satisfying. Paired with a side of sweet potato fries, it was a meal that was both indulgent and nourishing.
The drink selection is equally impressive, with an array of freshly squeezed juices and organic teas. I opted for the Green Detox juice, which was a vibrant and invigorating blend of greens that left me feeling refreshed.
What truly sets Real Food apart is their commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. It's a place where you can enjoy a meal with the peace of mind that you're making a positive impact on both your health and the environment.
Overall, Real Food Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in the Straits Quay area. The combination of delightful cuisine, warm atmosphere, and conscientious practices makes it a standout dining destination. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable...
Read moreLast Visit: November 2017 What I Had: Scone, Steam & Fried Dumplings (RM19), Organic Mushroom Aglio Olio (RM24), Lentil (Quinoa) Coquette Burger (RM30), Carrot Cake, Chocolate Cake Being at Straits Quay, the prices (which are definitely on the high side) should not come as a surprise, especially with the way they’ve market themselves as a healthy, organic etc. establishment. The food here is good and doesn’t disappoint – using organic and quality ingredients but still managing to put out tasty food. In spite of that, I still do think that the food is slightly overpriced. Like the dumpling (which yes, were extremely addictive and amazing both fried and steamed), but RM19 for 8 dumplings? That’s about RM2 per dumpling! Still… not going to lie, it is my occasional guilty pleasure… (Guilty for paying RM19 for 8 dumplings). The mushroom aglio olio was just ok, with a nice assortment of mushrooms. The lentil coquette burger was delicious. I had their chocolate cake and carrot cake, both did not disappoint, especially the chocolate cake which would even impress non-vegans with its rich gooey chocolatey goodness. I had the scone one time as well, and it was AMAZING, flaky and moist like a normal buttery scone. So, Real food goes onto my long list of pricey but consistently good vegetarian/vegan establishments (mind you, I can name more overpriced and overrated non-vegan places). All in all, (until the day I can count the number of vegetarian/vegan establishments in Penang which offer good western food on two hands) I would recommend real food for the occasional vegan/vegetarian...
Read moreI just have a huge issue with the exorbitant prices. Every meal here ranges between 25-45 rm which for the portion sizes just aren't justified. The food is good sure but I'm not sure it's so much better than other vegetarian/vegan establishments to charge almost 1.5 to 2x the prices I would expect to pay. For example the banana pancakes are 25rm. One scoop of ice cream with the pancakes is an additional 11 and 2 scoops is 20. So if you wanted 2 scoops to share with two people you're looking at nearly 50rm just for dessert. This is ridiculous. A whole tub of vegan ice cream can be bough between 35-50rm. And the portions are just underwhenlimg. 3 small pancakes for 25rm. I feel this place needs to get its pricing right or deliver more for what it's currently charging in terms of quality...
