Kak Ani Seafood — Restaurant in George Town

The food taste horrible yet so expensive. Paid RM325 for food which consist of 2 fish, prawns, salted egg sotong, vegetables, omelette, and tom yum soup. Another RM28 for a jug of lychee drink and a jug of teh O.

Can’t even finish the food because of how bad the food taste like. Everything was soggy and taste weird. Fried fish not even crispy. We requested that the fish to be cooked in 3flavours, but it doesn’t even taste close to that, and they don’t even put pineapples in it. Chicken tumeric was horrible, tasted like the chicken went for a long swim with coated flour batter before being mixed into tumeric water. The tom yum soup doesn’t even taste like tom yum. The salted egg sotong tasted very rubbery in white cream sauce with no salted egg flavour.

Don’t patronize this stall if you don’t want to waste your money. This stall controls the seats with sunset view, which shows that they only want to make money and not improve their cooking skills. Not trying to bring down the owner, but nothing has changed since we last visited in 2018.

Go to the next door stall for better quality of food that are value for money. We went to the next stall (dshakiera) the next day and paid only RM285 for 3 fishes, 3 plates of sotongs, veg, drinks, 4 plates of eggs bistik, tom yum soup, beef...

Food was okay. But that's the only positive thing i could list here.

We were not allowed to pick our menus as per our wish. The owner insisted that the sets (Set A, Set B) they have prepared are the only menus we can pick. It took about more than an hour before the food are served. Some of the waiters (which I'd highly rate) entertained other customers (took orders, asked if the customers needed anything), but was later scolded by the owner for doing so (and it was publicly done). The owner reminded the waiters that they are not allowed to take orders, and insisted that the customers should come to her if they want to...

Ordered one dish. Took more than 30mins to prepare. Moreover, i had to tell one of the waiter that my food is ready because its been there on the counter for more than 5mins and the waiter is too "busy" to notice it. There were literally no one else ordering and i wonder why it took so long. Then i found out the rice is not cooked yet, so i had to wait for another 5-10mins. And when i see the amount of rice given, i almost burst into tears/fire. Expensive for an average shop (paid RM13 for that amount of food), food is so and so only.
