King Kong Ramen Bayan Lepas — Restaurant in George Town

i used to think a good bowl of tonkotsu ramen requires that very strong pork bone flavor and the broth needs to be super viscous (thick), after having the ramen here, it really changed my perspective on that. First of all, the soup here is not as thick or flavorful as many of the expensive chains here, even the K shop at Pulau Tikus, but that was what impressed me the most. The broth was rather mild but will have enough pork bone flavor, secondly it has a oily quality to it, which in the end I deduced it to be the pork collagen, which was absolutely fantastic, taste and mouthfeel. Hats off to the chef, you have created a marvelous bowl of ramen without competing head on with the other chains, as you have your own specialty. I would really want to come back for more, and before i forget, that pork roulette slice was amazing as well, melt in your mouth soft, even the oily parts. please keep up this...

Went to this place on Christmas eve and maybe the timing was odd as I had my late lunch on that day so the restaurant is actually pretty empty with only 1 other table occupied. So thr service is of course very fast and I am very happy. :)

Ordered the signature ramen and also prawn tempura. And both the food is absolutely delicious. I love the ramen, the broth is very nice (it was not that salty, just nice for my taste bud) and the slice pork meat is quite thick unlike some other shops who give a thin slice of pork meat. The prawn tempura is also super crispy and I really enjoyed it.

I saw there is an XXL or big bowl of ramen which can be shared by 2 to 3 pax. LoL. Maybe next time I will consider ordering that.

Will definitely return again to try out other dishes...

Come for Dinner. Expect Japanese food here but taste like China food (according to menu it is top rated dish), RM40 per pax for this taste is overprice. The worker accidentally dropped one small chicken piece when served to their tray but didnt put back. Wasabi provided is in packaging form feel not so professional. Have to visit toilet next day morning after eat

*Update towards owner replied: Seriously it doesn’t make sense that wasabi in packaging is for purposes of keeping it fresh. And most importantly you skipped answering the key point which is China taste dish and also diarrhea part, my relative who visit along also face same issue...
