Menya Miyabi Penang Queensbay Mall — Restaurant in George Town

We visited this place to introduce a good Japanese ramen restaurant to my friend. We trusted this ramen chain's unique ramen flavor. However, we are very disappointed.

We want to show our friend different styles of ramen without spending too much, we chose the time during lunch where their lunch promotion is available.

Food: Their ramen and soup quality is drastically dropped compared to previous visit last year. Remen noodle was soft, it lost its firmness. Soup does tastes different than last time as well. The soy sauce and salt base was still there, but the thickness and consistency was not as before. They also took too much time to serve two onigiri. Green tea was considered one of the best amongst the other Japanese restaurants, and it was always consistent from previous visits, but this time the tea is not concentrated enough.

Service: There is one servant that currently doesn't suit to work in this restaurant.

Her service makes me feel like as if I dine in a local hawker kopitiam. Why she can't ask in a more polite way? Could she improve her serving skill? Like when she served tea, she asked me: "you want tea or not?" (she asked me literally like this) with unpleasant attitude. That sounded rude for me. She questioned us as well when we asked for extra soup to dilute the concentrated soup. I get that she wants to remind us that just plain soup with no flavour. But the question itself is unnecessary. I also don't get it when the time she goes to keep all plates and bowls without confirming with us. She might need to know that this is Japanese restaurant and how she should serve customers.

I wish that the management team can come and conduct quality check more frequently.

This visit was not worth it, considering its relatively high price tag, plus 16% service tax and sst.

Also, please make sure to have at least English translation to all promotion announcements in restaurants and social platforms. It is inconsiderate for those who don't understand...

THEY SERVED UNCOOKED FOOD!!! It is very disappointed experience! I used to visit this restaurant since it just opened. Yes, the ramen taste still good! But the gyoza skin is white in colour, so it is uncooked. I notified the waiter but the man said it is like that! Bullshit! After he feeback to the kitchen, he agreed to replaced however after i wait for 10mins, i checked with him, he said is on. Then another 10mins, i asked again, then only he said that he has adjusted the bill, so i m asking whether he is waive or what? He said yes, as have waited so long and i m running out of time, so I just checked out. Then only i found out he just changed my order from 10pcs @RM19 to 6pcs @RM15. So please if you are that dishonest, please do not...

Ultimate place to go if you are a Japanese Ramen fan. Superb quality ramen with all ingredients air flown from Hokkaido. 3rd visit to Menya Miyabi.

Set Lunch offer during 12-2pm weekdays. Basically same with normal dish except extra drinks and mini don aside. Set Lunch Ramen is only 80gm noodle while Normal Ramen is around 100-120gm noodle (info provided by staff).

Grilled Pork Belly Skewer is superb and melts in your mouth. Ramen Broth is on the thick side, for me is what I enjoyed most for their thick soup. Maybe its suitable to call it as "sauce" instead of "soup" haha.
