Service rating: 1/5 Kannichikan Yakiniku Tanjung Tokong, Penang
Lousy service⌠We book our table at 6pm and overall is good until 7.57pm that getting an immediate notice from service crew that they having another customer for my table (8pm appointment).
Few choices given - they will pack the uncooked raw meat (to takeaway) or we finish the meat by 8pm (they will help to grill). Wow, that time we are still half way to finish the meal, ordered 600 gram of meat plus noodle.
In fact, my friend and I donât mind to follow your rules to quickly finish the meal within your timeframe (2 hours for so called weekend even though it is friday) if you alert us 30min before your time limit.
When we tell service crew on this 30min alert thing, the service crew said they unexpected customer taken long hour (more than 2 hours) for a meal.
There is no pre-notice while we making the reservation. In your restaurant we canât see any signboard about the time limit. Even when we enter the restaurant, the service crew also didnât tell us know about this time limit.
Sincerely appreciate if you have this kind of time limit you need to tell every single customer but not telling me this kind of thing at last minutes.
At last, we choose to let the service crew grill meat for us and all these ruined our dinner as we have to bare the heat of the meal and finish it as soon as we can (we took another extra 15min plus the time they change the...
Read moreIâve had great experiences at KNK before, but my most recent visit was quite disappointing. We sat at Table 2 and ordered around 8 PM (22/9), but several issues stood out during the meal.
First, the quality of the meat was noticeably lower than before. The cuts lacked the tenderness and rich flavor that I had previously enjoyed. For the price point, I expected much higher quality, but it simply didnât meet expectations. The jeon, which is usually a favorite, was also disappointingâsoggy and missing its usual crispness.
Service was another issue. The first female foreign server assisting us seemed inexperienced with the grilling. The grill had been set to the convex side by the manager, which was being used to cook the small pot of garlic in oil. However, when it came time to grill the meat, she didnât flip it to the concave side. This left the Iberico pork too close to the heat, causing it to cook too quickly. She even mentioned to a colleague that the fire was too strong and that she didnât know how to grill it, but by then it was too late. The pork came out tough, dry, and slightly burnt, without the melt-in-your-mouth texture that should come with such a premium cut.
Overall, for the price we paid, the experience fell short of expectations. I hope these issues can be addressed...
