SOGO GRILL — Restaurant in George Town

Superb experience. 5 stars all the way. I don't really have much to complain except the price. I love the environment. The seaview is relaxing. Sitting outside is airy and cool. The decor is simple while the tables and chair comfortable.

The waiters and whom I presume is the boss are both friendly and accommodating. Ordering is via QR is quite easy and straightforward.

The side dishes are delicious and food arrives fast. The BBQ was done perfectly and the marination was perfect with an incredible balance in flavor and taste. High marks from me for the tenderness and the juiciness of the protein with the lingering taste of the superbly seasoned meat.

I also fully enjoyed the tofu paste stew which arrived piping hot. The kimchi fried rice was perfectly seasoned and totally delicious. High marks also for the seafood pancake. Adequately crispy with an optimal thickness having nice filling and mouth wateringly tasteful.

In short, great place for a Korean themed dinner. Great view. Good food and relaxing atmosphere. But. Be prepared to pay a premium price for this. It...

The interior of Sogo is expansive and spacious and immediately puts us in a relaxed mood to enjoy the meal. The tables are set sufficiently far apart; thus ensuring privacy while enjoying a Korean hotpot and grilled feast. The service was attentive and courteous. The Korean lady boss was friendly too. During our visit, we sampled a few classic picks (sadly forgotten to take proper note of their Korean names, however). The hot stone bibimbap was delicious, while the kimchi ramen hotpot was flavourful but not too spicy. The lovely thing about Sogo is that they offer to grill the meat away from the table, if one wishes to have that option. We hence opted for that to reduce the likelihood of walking around smelling like a grilled dish lol. The grilled pork shoulder pieces were marinated and grilled to perfection. The meat pieces were juicy and not too fatty. The other star of this dining experience was the wide range of refillable side dishes. Sogo comes highly recommended. The first time visited this place after my friend talked about it all the time. Welcomed by friendly staff, clean restaurant, good build-in BBQ air ventilation (very good) I like this the most! So we ordered a few things, pork, lamb, and beef (Highly recommended) Is a must to order the kimchi tofu soup, that;s the REAL soup supposed to be. (Unlike other Korean restaurants which only SPRINKLE a few pieces of pork slices in it) The side dishes are more than good enough! And if you ever eat beef, please take it with some wasabi, it tastes soooo good. Basically, we are satisfied with our food.
