Teels Heritage Cafe — Restaurant in George Town

On 30 Sep 2022 afternoon, we stopped at Teels for coffee, attracted by the inviting ambience of the small coffee lounge on the ground floor. It was not a good sign already when we walked in and our presence was not acknowledged, the two staff working behind the coffee bar continued on to potter around with their work, as if we weren’t there. The used table next to ours was left not cleaned for as long as we were there, it was unsightly. The restrooms left us all very turned off. The floor was wet and sticky, the toilet bowl was stained, and the toilet seat was dirty and wet. There was no toilet roll. Whilst the Gula Melaka Latte was invitingly cold and the aromatic, it was over-priced by Penang cost standards and for the size of the drink. We felt like we were getting in the way of the two “very busy staff” who had no one else to serve but us, really. Overall, the service, the staff attitude, the condition of the restroom does not match with the rich heritage ambience it...

Having a nice lunch break with my colleague today.Teels Heritage actually provides few car park slots for their customer.

The nasi rancak by Qually's taste superb for me with generous portion. My colleague like the Aglio olio spaghetti too. Too bad cheese platter not available today..hope its available the next visit.Drinks are ok.One thing that you must not miss is their portugese tart...the tart shell is so crispy that you hear the krik krik sound.

The environment is good as its air condition. May come another time to try other delicacies...

My family arrived at 8:30 pm and it was supposed to be open. There were no staff serving and after waiting a while, I approached the staff to ask if they were still serving. The gentleman said, "Yes" but continued what he was doing and we were totally ignored. We later adjourned to another restaurant after waiting there another 10 minutes for service but was still not served.
