Initially i would be giving 1 star but at the end, one of the lady (i think she is the manager) solved the issue for us, so i decided to rate 3 star.

The receptionist is giving a long face idk why. The gave us a wrong room at first, supposedly is two queen bed but they gave us one queen bed and one single bed, with some sort of damaged hole between the beds. We changed to another room that we have booked, but the room was not cleaned up and super messy with rubbish.

Then we decided not to stay here after these incident and it totally ruined our vacation mood. We request for return and refund of money from agoda. After agoda deal with the manager (male), the agoda customer service tell us that the manager (male) wish to talk to us directly to understand the issue.

The we called the manager and told him the first problem. The he just cut our sentence by saying that his staff at the reception has worked with him for almost a year and she have received vvvvvaaarrrioouusss complement from customers for providing a good service, which i was shocked 😮. Okay but the main issue is not this cuz we wanted to get return and refund. Then the manager say we booked the first room (one queen bed and one double bed) and we are supposedly staying on that room itself. He says it until like we should be grateful when she decided to change the room with double queen bed to us where actually we did not book that double bed room. But we checked our booking information again and again on agoda, we actually booked the double queen bed room. Then he asks us to send the proof to him, so we sent. Tbh, the whole conversation he sounds so pissed, which makes us pissed because we are the one not receiving a good service from them.

Then another lady, i think she is a manager called us and solved the issue for us. Although it takes quite some time, at least we get back the refund.

At last, thank you to georgetown hotel penang for the wonderful whole new experience. Be more cautious and read their reviews before booking a hotel! Also thank you for the lady who willing to solve the...

Was there half hour early. Told they couldnt check in early, as need to clean the room. When I finally checked in,they gave a double bed instead of 2 single beds, eventhough I specifically requested for 2 twins on the reservation. The owner was no help at all, and kept blaming Agoda system instead of trying to assist or resolve the issue or appease the customer. Keeps insisting its not his fault, and we need to contact and deal with Agoda directly.

We finally took the room as having driven 5 hrs, we were too tired to look for another hotel. BIG MISTAKE. The hotel has no toiletries or towels, which I had to request. The so called new bottles of shampoo were half empty. No soap or conditioner. When I asked for soap and consitioner, they said its a 3-in-1 soap, shampoo and conditioner. But the container only says shampoo. Looks more like the owner is miserly and trying to skimp on simple necessities to save a penny. The first hotel I've ever stayed in, which did not have a phone in the room! I have to go downstairs everytime I require housekeeping or room service!!! I finally found the phone. It was disconnected and wrapped in the telephone cord, kept inside a drawer. They expect their customers to connect their own phones? The walls are also paper thin, I can hear conversations from the next room. The toilet door does not lock, missing toilet roll holder, and the toilet bowl leaks at the base and the whole floor is wet. I've been to restaurant toilets which are much cleaner. And there are several red stains on the curtains!!! Are they blood stains? OMG.

I've stayed in roadside motels which are better. Regretting I did not make the switch. Considering you can stay in Oriental Hotel for only RM10 more, with a higher rating and cleaner. Definitely not...

DO NOT TRY THIS , most reviews were forced by the reception in exchange for additional ridiculous charges when checking out late.

After repeating my stay in this hotel for 4 times, I am sure that I know this hotel enough to leave sincere and honest review so that you could rest assured that my review is REAL.

Recently, the hotel has issued the weird rules as they will never allow your friends [ as they call NON-GUEST ] to visit you nor go to your room as threatening to report his or her visit as CRIMINAL CHARGE to their property. Imagine, you pay for the room, but you have no right to use the room as per normal condition, it is nothing but just like a school dormitory or prison.

The management of the hotel keeps the eyes on you waiting for the chance to charge you more in any way they can. If you check out even one minute late or a split second late , you will be charged a lot for it or you will be forced to give fake review or overrate their hotel , show them what you wrote in exchange with the charge.

to sum up: If you are about to book this hotel, consider drop/stop:

the room is just for budget , I think it is comfortable enough. some receptionists are friendly and helpful. The management of the hotel will just want to rip you off as they monitor your mistake and come up with charges . They will never recognise your loyalty as normal practice of hospitality business , but they are hungry for money. They won't listen to your problem, but they will raise their voice to scare you , and make you agree as what they want. Life is in danger if...

A Disheartening Stay at Georgetown Hotel, Penang I recently had a disappointing experience at Georgetown Hotel in Penang, booked through Agoda. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt unkempt. The lobby was dirty, with no seating for guests waiting to check in, and the floors were in desperate need of cleaning. Upon entering my room, I quickly realized it was not the one I had booked. Every room I was shown had a musty smell, with peeling paint and non-functioning TVs. To make matters worse, the bathroom lacked a light bulb, and the towels were uncomfortably stinky. The staff was somewhat helpful; the receptionist offered several alternative rooms. However, all were similarly in disrepair. After viewing five rooms, I was advised to cancel my reservation, but feeling exhausted, I opted to stay. Unfortunately, the value and service did not meet my expectations. At checkout, I faced an unexpected charge for being 10 minutes late, even though I was delayed by a busy lift. This added insult to injury. Overall, I cannot recommend Georgetown Hotel. It’s clear the management does not prioritize investment in maintenance or guest satisfaction. Save your time and money by choosing a different hotel.

As I entered the hotel reception I noticed a bad smell and knew I was t going to enjoy my stay here as there was rubbish on the floor where the bins hadn’t been emptied. I checked in went to my room in the lift which was also dirty and smelly, when I entered my room I found the room floor and bathroom dirt with hair all over the floors where it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The kettle, fridge and tv also did not work because of the faulty plug sockets. I immediately went back to reception and they said if I was not happy I could leave and get a full refund. Today I only received 50% refund from Agoda which I am not happy about. You can check out the dirty pictures of the room on my google review. Unless you are really desperate do not stay at this hotel and choose The Chulia Mansion hotel for £5 more. Absolutely disgusting.
