I stayed 4nights in this hotel, and it was like a nightmare. I entered the room and realized there were no complimentary bottled water. I asked for it and I had to wait 30+ minutes until I got it.
Room and bathroom cleanliness is somehow very poor. The bed sheets stain and the bathroom looks dirty especially at the corner. Don't hope for face towel or extra blanket, they just simply won't give you. The shower was broken. And when I wanted to make a cup of hot tea, I looked inside the electric kettle and found it rusted.
The air conditioner was leaking so bad until it almost flooding my room. I asked for maintenance, they did it, but still leaking like it was raining inside. So I asked to change to another room. They gave me another room in 12th floor. And this time I had some other problems.
I found bread crumbs everywhere in my new room (1218), on the floor, chair, sofa, and desk. I also found some other stuffs on the floor, it looked like someone stayed there before and the cleaning service only changed the bed sheets. The pillows have unpleasant odor (there are 3 pillows in my rooms, and all of them smell like a ton of sweat!) As before, the bathroom also looks old and dirty but this time the shower was fine. If you stay here, be prepared for loud karaoke that you have to listen all night long.
The only good thing about this hotel is only the location. You can easily found many street food and KFC nearby.
Overall, I will never recommend this...
Read moreOn check in , when we asked the guy on reception where was the lounge and the restaurant, we were told the lounge and restaurant were closed, " there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the area. Tired after a long days journey we wanted to relax in the lounge, which the hotel boasts, reception staff were extremely rude. Went to the room, it was dirty. Because we were hungry and tired, We couldn't find a bar or restaurant in the vicinty, bearing in mind we have been to Penang many times, we had to get a taxi. Back to the hotel to sleep, in the morning the breakfast was not good, cold food, coffee was so weak it was hot water, and the staff were miserable, particularly the egg station, who does not do poached eggs!. We went out for the day, got back the room was flooded from above, we were moved to another room, this room was disgusting, nothing was clean, it looked like it had never been cleaned since before covid, Complained and were offered another room, however it didn't materialise to the next day. This room was OK on the inside, however outside the decking on the balcony was rotten. To sum up the hotel advertises two pools, theres only one, the area around the pool was dirty and unkempt, no poolside bar the spa is closed. No wonder we were charged the full 4 night stay on check in. Would definitely not...
Read moreFirstly the service on the hotel staff was quite nice which made up for most of it. But unfortunately the hotel itself wasn't all that great. The rooms themselves didn't seems very well kept. The first room they offer smelled so strongly of mold/mildew it was hard to breath but we asked for a different room and the found a need one almost immediately regardless of their high season time. It was a better room but still not amazing. The cleaners often forget to give us towels after cleaning but were attentive when asked for the towels. The inclusive buffet was alright. Not a lot of variety mostly the same thing each day (we stayed two weeks) but we open to suggestions). The location of the hotel was pretty great, just behind was a few streets packed with bars, restaurants and cafes and a few retail boutiques. The people of the area are very lovely too. If you use grab there's a lot to do and see in the surrounding areas for practically pennies (so forget taxis). Walking to those places isn't bad either but there always a chance of rain and it's always muggy. Other than that it's a pretty reasonable...
