The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — Restaurant in George Town

This place used to be my go-to but it won’t be for the near future. The store has serious hygiene issues, a lot of cockroaches can be seen in plain sight and I’m not sure if the workers even care about sanitizing the place. There was a big cockroach crawling around near the pick-up counter and the store worker did not even bother to try to remove it but rather he just shoved it off the counter. There was also a dead cockroach below the coffee machine. It’s such a sad sight to see as I used to think all coffee bean stores have high hygiene standards. I ordered an iced latte, gave instructions for less ice for a regular cup but the drink was not filled to entire cup, in fact, it was only two-thirds full. When questioned about this, the staff gave a rude response saying that this was the portion size if less ice was requested. Mind you, if I wanted the portion to be so less, I would’ve ordered a small, hot cup of coffee and add ice myself at home. Nice n comfortable air conditioned joint to sit down for a slice of cake n a latte. Salmon mushroom aglio, chicken pie are good. I like the Breakfast O Day n Egg Ben which come with coffee or tea all day for less than RM 21 each. Good friendly service too. Free internet. Senior citizen discounts of 10% available on weekdays. Place is small though with less than 15 tables. One could sit here for 2 hours easily. We see executives doing work on their laptops all the time. Toilet can be better maintained. No tissue paper provided so floor is wet n messy.

'Quiet' may not be a suitable adjective sometimes because one or two customers could be talking loudly on the phone or closing a sales pitch in the small place. Minor irritance. Just relax n enjoy your privacy.

Update prob!! Case1 I ordered ice cupccino the top of cover straw cant go truth, I spill the drink!! sucks!! especially, It same happened before. I don’t know this shop never realize. Case2 Gave me number for wait, it never bring me drink nothing improve at all. I so disappointed. Quality of service is worst place.
