Winter Warmers Coffee & Tea House — Restaurant in George Town

So disappointed with the service today. The waiter ( young Chinese boy) is so arrogant. 1. When we were ordering some tea from the menu, we asked him politely about the details of the illustration shown on the menu, he did not bother to even explain it to us, and said : “it’s all on the menu you can see them by yourself.” We went there in the pax of 3, we requested an extra cup from him ( two cups were given at first) but he declined our request without thinking, saying : “ we can only provide two cups per pot”. When we actually ordered 2 pots of tea and a sandwich, which I think we have met the minimum spending per person. But he is so reluctant to help us with the extra cup. But thankfully there is one senior staff, that’s willing to give us an extra cup. Thank you to the helpful gentleman. When we raised our hand and ask for some help from this young boy, I am not sure if he is not able to see or hear us, he just walk by without responding.

It was an awful experience at Winter Warmers Gurney plaza today. I’m really disappointed. Food was okay. It’s just the service from that one particular waiter that ruined our good mood for afternoon tea.

This restaurant is located at G Hotel Outlet which is facing Gurney Plaza. They serves heart warming english styled hot tea, tantalizing fruits tea, refreshing cold tea and creamy milk tea. We ordered their Lemon Grass & Mint Chicken (c/w pasta), Pineapple Whole Leg Chicken (c/w rice), Ice-Cream (Mango) Waffle, Rosebuds (Hot) Tea and Iced Lime-Mint Tea. The notable food are the Lemon Grass & Mint Chicken which was so tender with a tinge of mint and a stronger scent or taste of Lemon Grass which was just nice for us. In fact, we ordered our second helping for this plate. The Ice-Cream (Mango) is kinda of sweet for us but the waffle is slight crisp on the edge but soft and tasty on the inside. Both tea was enjoyable especially the rosebuds were rosey and mildly sweet, whereas the Iced Lime-Mint Tea was refreshing and it was a tinge of sourishness with minty after taste. The store manager I think, was extremely rude and sarcastic during payment. When I tried to pay using store voucher and Grab Dine Out, instead of just politely saying it's unallowed to combine, he said that if allowed to combine, I can try to open to open my own restaurant and he'd come to do it too. And when I tried to compare to see if the voucher or Dine In is more worth for me, he hurried me impatiently to pay, saying they had no time to entertain me for this, which was ridiculous as I was the only person at the cashier at the time and there weren't many customers at all. He said either voucher or Dine Out is almost the same price and asked me to choose voucher instead. The same was said by the cashier earlier where he said voucher was more worth.I was almost tricked by them as I was able to save twice as more via Grab Dine Out.
