GURNEY LODGE — Hotel in George Town

Amazing customer service! The first night we were shown the room and full explanation was given on how things worked. The staff moved her car so we had a place to park. The service was so good we decided to stay an extra night as we had a lot of work in Penang. The next morning we mentioned to the new staff that the bed was a bit hard but we didn't want to complain. That evening, they put extra comforter under the sheet for cushion. I've never been so impressed with the personalized care in any hotel. We come to Penang every month for work. We had a regular place we would stay for the past 2 years. Sadly the price has increased and it's beyond our budget. If Gurney Lodge maintains it's reasonable prices, we will definitely come back every time. It's not easy finding good hotels with good prices. But this one is definitely worth...

Small hotel right beside Gurney Plaza that has an amazing food court and a nice supermarket as well. Front desk clerks very nice and helpful and able to communicate in English. Also very near a location that has dozns of food stalls offering local and other cuisine after 5pm . I stayed on the second floor at times there was issues with wifi but the staff always helped me to get reconnected .The bed and especially table.he pillows very comfortable. good sized room in 211 with nice bathroom as well. Could use an upgrade from the 1 ply toilet tissue . A/C was fine Has an interesting door lock system but seems fine once I got used to it. Has power buttons fot the a/c and hot water that must be lit up prior to using. Easy to take the regular bus to get downtown or the beach in front of...

I didnt expect much but wanted a perfect location between Gurney Plaza and Gurney drive food center..this was it! It is situated between the 2 locations I wanted to go! |Very good value for money. There are 2 floors. |The room size is reasonable, has all amenities..kettle, hair dryer, slippers, toothbrush set, shower cap, soap and shampoo. |The bed is very comfortable, the pillows are new and the air con is cold. |There is TV with HBO (or Fox) and National Geographic. |There are 2 shower heads, the handheld and the rain shower. |The only thing is that there is no separate areas between wet and dry in the bathroom/toilet. |When I checked out, I asked if they can hold my luggage for a few hrs while I explored the malls nearby hands free, they were happy to help....
