Signature Dry BKT (No Rice) = RM20.50 Omakase their Choice of Meat Cuts No Service Charge
Been awhile since I've had BKT in JB so I looked forward to this one. Everyone always say Malaysia does better BKT than Singapore and I'm very glad to announce that I've finally found one that I am very satisfied with.
This place is Air-Conditioned, although it wasn't turned on when I was there. Nevertheless it still felt quite Airy. The Staffs all look Malay but they can speak Chinese. They are very Friendly and Patient with guiding me how to order since this is my first time here.
How to Order:
Step 1: Choose the Style of BKT you want. As i've never eaten Dry BKT before, I chose their Dry BKT since this is their Signature Dish.
Step 2: Select the Meat Cuts you want. Amusingly, there is an option for "Omakase" meaning you let them choose for you, so ok, I chose this as I want to test if they are going to undercut me by choosing only Cheap Cuts.
Step 3: Include any Add-Ons if you want. Did not choose any Add-Ons. In fact, I didn't even order any Rice as at this time I felt quite full tbh.
When this was served up, the 1st thing that impressed me was a Free Bowl of their BKT Soup. Totally did not expect this free Bowl of Soup at all. Their reasoning is that they're scared Dry BKT may be too Dry for me, so with this Soup it can help abit.
Excellent! In this way, I can also review both their Dry and their Soup too together as a Free Sampler! This is my First Time trying Dry BKT. Is it Standard Practice for BKT Shops to give a Free Bowl of Soup if you order Dry BKT?
While the Soup is not Klang Style, it is DEEPLY HERBAL. I'm quite sure the Herb here is Danggui and it is VERY STRONG. Superb! Not Salty at all, this is an Amazing Soup that I can easily drink dry. 好汤!
As for their Signature Dry BKT, visually it looks like a Complete Mess. Not even any Basic Garnishing like Coriander Leaves or Scallion Slices, just one Big Dark Pile of Meats.
When I actually taste it however, I am Immediately Impressed.
There are over 10 pieces of Braised Pork of Various Different Cuts. Some Pork Belly, Some Lean Ones, and they all have a Very Unique Haebee Smell and Taste and COMPLETELY Not Porky at all. All of them taste very Savoury, Super Soft and Tender almost Melt in Mouth Quality. Especially if you bite into a Piece of Pork Belly, the Beautiful Fat just Disintegrates in your Mouth OMG!
The Most Amazing thing was they were Not Salty at all. Remember I ate this Plain without Rice? If you've eaten Braised Pork before, you'll know that it is usually very Salty and you have to pair with Rice to even the Saltiness out.
Not at all for this one. It is so Not Porky or Salty that I could finish everything with No Rice and I don't feel any Sense of Jelakness at all. Heck I was even quite Full when I came to eat this and I could still EASILY finish up everything!
Finishing off Everything with that Amazing Bowl of Herbal Soup was the Perfect End to the Meal! So Happy to FINALLY find a Malaysian BKT that I am actually impressed with. Bravo Malaysia, Bravo.
Paying RM20.50 (S$6.00) without Service Charge for this Amazing Quality BKT is absolutely worth the Money. The "Omakase" version I had felt very fair in terms of the Meat Cuts I've got and they didn't attempt to undercut me by spamming it with Vegetables than Meat to cut cost. In fact, I didn't even find much Vegetables at all. It was really mostly just Meat, Meat and more Meat.
I really enjoyed both Dry and Soup BKT here. This is an Easy Recommendation from Me.

Read moreStaff service need to be improved. When we reached there inside is full and only left outdoor seats, so we tell the staff we willing to wait for seats. Then the staff (guy) gave us a menu to have a look first while waiting. Then, a couple came after us and straight made order. They sat down and we thought they wish to sit outside. Then suddenly they went in and sat down, we both were confused and ask another staff (lady) is there any seats available inside? The staff said it’s full but we said how come the couple came after us went in? The staff just replied “but they already sat down and ordered”. Both me and my husband were like ?? This is not the way you solved the issue. The proper way is to inform the couple to come out first since we are queuing! But the staff just very insisted and repeated the same thing. At the end they ask the couple to sit at another table whr the last customer just left and we get the seats.
Food wise still ok. Dry one taste better the soup not enough herbal taste and super oily. And when we reached alot of thg were sold out (around 12.40pm). Think this is the first and...
Read morePlace: situated in the heart of Bukit Indah and among the busiest roads, this air-conditioned restaurant specialises in Bak Kut Teh (braised pork in herbal broth). No free WiFi here, but general mobile lines still works fine. I realised that there are no flies!!! Hardly any. Well done. They even let you choose ONLY LEAN MEAT!! Excellent.
Service: fairly prompt upon arrival. Orders taken briskly and without a problem. Problem was the you tiao (fried dough) arrived wayyy before the BKT actually came. Not sure if it mattered, but gave me the impression that the actual food was slow. Perhaps some people eat them on their lonely selves? Perhaps. The waiters here are mostly foreigners and can only understand simple bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. So, service can be frustrating if one speaks in English.
Food: BKT: I love the thickness of this broth!! The flavour is packed with a punch, the meat was almost as how we asked for all lean meat, (and 90% was lean) and the portion was very satisfying. Wonderful. One can tell that the herbs put into this broth was not discounted!! Love it....
