I would rate it lower than average. I'm not sure if it's TESCO all over Malaysia, or just this one. One critical comment that I have is that the store has really really really bad user's experience.
The main reason is that I have to pay my electronics first at the main counter, THEN I have to come back in (which was really awkward with all the full trolley with plastic bags) and bring it to the electronic section counter to test it out! Who would want to come back in when they already got out?
Furthermore, at that time, there is only one guy at the counter, and there was three customers there including me. The first guy is getting his claim/warranty I think. Understandable this type of issue will take a very long time to handle sometimes. But where are the other staff(s) to handle the other customers who are waiting in line? The frustrating part was I already waited a long queue to pay for all my stuffs, then I had to get back in, wait for another long queue with only two people.
Next comment are on the veggies section. The veggies are obviously not fresh, some are mixed with rotten veggies. My experience at that time was the onion was old, soggy and some are even rotten. Not a lot of fresh choices.
Final crucial user experience I would like to comment is about the trolleys. It bugs me that the store still keep the trolleys that are barely and unusable along with all the other trolleys! Why can't you just remove it so that no one dump the useless ones everywhere at the trolley area. It looks messy.
Good things about shopping in Tesco here is that there are plenty of free parking, a lot of items and the sales is good too. If I want to shop for stuff other than electronics and cooking needs, I...
Read moreThis is the place to come to if you want to stock up on groceries compared to Juscos nearby. Because it is supermarket themed there are less paraphernalia comparatively.
Parking is free and lots can be found at the sheltered carpark. The other side of the complex has lots which are semi-sheltered. This is better than Jusco which has mostly open lots baking the cars under the hot afternoon sun.
The groceries are generally cheaper than Jusco and the fresh produce here is the largest compared to Juscos or Giant (smallest). For those who cook western style they also stock herbs (basil/mint/wild rocket etc) and vegetables (zucchini) too. Look out for the discount corner as they are great deals to be had from time to time (especially the alcohol side, the Chianti I bought was really smooth for the price I paid for). Avoid the non-halal section though because the pork products all look expired and nasty better head to markets for a fresher selection.
In terms of eateries, there is really nothing much of note. But step out of Tescos and there a tonne of great choices across the roads in 2 directions.
Finally, for the gentlemen that require a basic hair-cut there is one at the ground-floor charging RM15 per cut. And on the same row is a pet store pretty well stocked for pet supplies and also a few cats and puppies on display for window-shoppers...
Read moreThis morning at 10am, I was lining up at Counter 9 in your store to make my payment. The lady in front of me was using a trolley basket, and the cashier rudely ordered her to return the basket in a very disrespectful tone, even making sarcastic remarks towards her.
Then the cashier looked at me and said, “What are you waiting for? Hurry up and move your stuff up!” — again, with an extremely poor attitude. I was shocked by how she treated customers, as if we owed her something.
Yes, many people are using government assistance vouchers these days, but that doesn’t mean we don’t also spend our own hard-earned money here. Regardless of the source of payment, every customer deserves basic respect.
I later approached the customer service counter, and was told that many customers have already complained about this same cashier — yet no visible action has been taken by your management. This is very disappointing and raises serious questions about your store’s attitude towards customer experience and service standards.
I believe every staff member has their own challenges, but poor behavior towards customers reflects not only on individuals, but also on management. I sincerely hope she receives the support and training she needs — and that your store reaffirms its commitment to respectful, inclusive...
