Dry Mee Hoon Kuey (Default Ingredients, Small) = RM10.00 1 Sampler Bowl of their Soup = Free No Service Charge
The Most Prominent Thing you will notice about this Unique Eatery is the Huge Tree that grows right next to it. According to the Very Friendly Lady Boss, apparently it was lovingly planted together with her Husband over 30 years ago! ❤️ Really Beautiful Story. 所为前人栽树,后人乘凉. 🌳❤️
It's a Very Small Kopitiam with a Small Outdoor Area. The Indoor Area is really very small and can at most only hold about 4 Tables. The Lady Boss is a Very Friendly and Jolly Person.
Mee Hoon Kuey is of course their Signature Dish here and it comes in either Dry or Soup Versions. There are no Menu available, but you can just tell her what you want.
I like that you can fully customize whether you would like to omit any ingredients that you don't eat. Finally, check the final price and she'll make it for you accordingly. Because I wanted to also try their Soup, she gave me a Free Bowl of it. Everything was served up in about 4 Minutes.
Homemade Sambal Chilli
This was one of the Main Important Component of the Dish as I understand. The Lady Boss herself is very proud of it as this is their Homemade Recipe.
It is an Intense Mix of Sweet and Savoury. Almost like a Cross Between Kicap Manis and Soy Sauce but not really. Texture is more Watery than Viscous and its Spicy although not Overly So, but the Heat does linger long in your Mouth. This is a Very Well Made somewhat Complex Sambal Chilli Condiment.
1 Sampler Bowl of their Soup = Free
Wow its so Good! Satisfyingly Savoury 清甜 with a Very Deep Veggie almost Herbal Taste. This is a Very High Level Soup, Completely Different from how you would expect a Mee Hoon Kuey Soup to taste like. Excellent Soup!
Dry Mee Hoon Kuey (Default Ingredients, Small) = RM10.00
Even for their Small, its served in a Huge Gigantic Bowl. Also, although this is the Dry Version, there is quite alot of Braised Sauce within that has a Savoury Sweetish Salty taste to it.
The Mee Hoon Kuey is Handmade, has a Soft Bite Feel although not Super Soft and still retains a somewhat Firmish Bite. Doesn't taste Doughy and its soaked very nicely with that Braised Sauce. Nice. Amount of Kuey within is not alot, but Ingredients is Alot. The Lady Boss say they focus on giving more Ingredients than Kuey at this place. Perfect if you are watching your Carb Intake.
The Ingredients List firstly consists of several Baby Fishballs and Porkballs. Both Fishballs and Porkballs were Bouncy to the Bite and especially the Porkballs don't have that type of Supermarket Porkballs Porky Taste. That said, I also don't think they're Handmade too. Probably sourced from some Supplier.
There are also Noticeably alot of Beancurd Skins and these have also been soaked nicely with that Braised Sauce. They're very nice to eat and this is the first time I'm seeing Beancurd Skins used in a Mee Hoon Kuey. There are also Some Slices of Pork and they're Chewy and not Overly Porky.
Rounding off the Ingredients list were an Egg, Ikan Bilis and Of Course Generous Amounts of Mani Veggies which you can see the Staffs cut and shave them outside the Shop. Because of the Mani Veggies and Beancurd Skins, I feel they gave the Whole Dish a Very Chewy Feel.
Adding their Homemade Sambal Chilli does elevate the taste of the Dish giving it an Additional Hit of Salty Spicy Kick.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM10.00 (S$2.90), this is Absolutely Worth the Money to give this a Try. Its a Very Well Made Bowl of Mee Hoon Kuey and I especially love that it can be fully customized to exactly how you like yours to be made.
Every Component of the Dish was made at a High Level, from the Homemade Sambal Chilli, to their Excellent Soup to the Actual Bowl of Mee Hoon Kuey itself.
I can Easily Recommend this to anyone to come give this a Try.

Read moreWhen make payment was shocked with the price of 2 small bowl and a drink cost rm26.50. Never mention about price, but just ask if OK with egg, bean curd, meatball. Never expect 1 bowl small mee hun kueh would cost RM12, which is consider the most expensive noodle from a normal stall. 1 leng teh for Rm2. 50.
The staff said normal bowl without egg, bean curd, meat ball, just plain noodle is Rm7 for small.
Nothing special with the ingredients.
No price list, food is below standard, place is dirty. My drink has a layer of oil. Many other stalls serve better than this at cheaper price.
