Lucky Hotel — Hotel in Johor

It is a good budget place to stay if you are not super into basic hygiene. The location however was on the better side, there were restaurants and a 7-11 below. The photos posted by the host was after all too good to be true, the toilet ceiling had spider webs hanging off, air vent looked like it had never been cleaned or even touched by at least 2 years. The sink also had some sort of brown gunk when i first checked in. The room also has a window with a broken handle, so you can't close the window at night, attracting a whole army of mosquitoes in. Lastly, the walls had so much dust and chipped off paint.I would say that the only plus points about that place is the location, and the bed. It was atleast soft and it did not smell bad. I didn't expect that a $30+ SGD could only land...

The room itself was fine, but the problem is the very poor soundproofing. I could hear people talking in the corridor at high volume. Additionally, there was a strong smell of smoke penetrating the room from outside, as if someone were smoking right beside me. I believe the smell was coming from the storeroom opposite. I could feel the air flowing into the room from the door side gap, even though no visible gap could be seen. To stop the air from flowing into the room, I had to put something behind the door to tighten the gap. This helped to reduce the smell when someone was smoking outside.
