Our recent visit to 香積素食 was a true gastronomic delight. The slightly higher prices are well worth it, considering the ample portions that easily serve 3-4 people, as seen in the shared picture. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the perfect blend of quality, freshness, and flavor.

The vegetarian dishes at 香積素食 boast fresh, crisp vegetables that elevate the dining experience. The thoughtful avoidance of excessive oil or salt lets the natural goodness shine through, making each bite a delight.

Adding to the positive experience is the convenient outdoor parking at the side of the road. While it might be outdoor parking, it’s a small trade-off for the culinary gem that awaits inside. The restaurant’s meticulous plating and standout homemade chili and curry further contribute to a memorable dining venture.

I’ve been a loyal customer but unfortunately, my experience was not a pleasant one. The food was decent, but the attitude of the owner and staff members left a lot to be desired.

From the moment I walked in, they did not offer a warm welcome, and their tone of voice was abrupt and unfriendly. As I sat down to order my meal, I noticed that several other staff members were also displaying negative attitudes.

The most unpleasant moment is when I intend to make payment at the counter (yes, they won’t come to your table and give you the bill), I asked how much does it cost, and the owner just throw me the bill and don’t even bother to talk to me!

Overall, I would not recommend Xiang Ji due to the poor attitudes of its owner and staff members. I believe that customer service is essential, and it was severely lacking during my visit. If you're looking for a restaurant that values its customers, I would suggest...

Very nice shop and the food here is amazing too. Came here a long time ago (~10yrs ago) when it was just a small store selling Thai-style vegetarian dishes. Aunty is very creative with the way she cooks and is able to think of a dish on the spot. We ordered the Teriyaki Sauce Prawn, Claypot Spicy Petai with Beancurd, Special Roasted Crispy Veg Meat (small), Butter Creamy Oyster Mushroom, Special Pork Belly Soup, Fried Hong Kong Mee, Thai Sweet & Sour Pork and some rice. Everything was very unique and delicious, but my favourite have to be the Butter Creamy Oyster Mushroom. They added some brown rice to fry with it, which is a nice touch to a dish that is sold everywhere.
