We came as a family of six adults and a toddler and ordered 10 dishes plus one carb. Every dish was delicious!
The highlight was the suckling pig—the skin was incredibly crispy.
The double-flavored seabass was impressive too; it’s the first time I’ve seen a fish prepared two ways on one plate. One side was fried with egg strands, while the other was sweet and sour. I personally preferred the sweet and sour, though both were fresh and tasty.
The deep-fried cuttlefish was another winner—huge in size, with a perfectly crispy exterior and chewy inside.
hotplate tofu was also a standout—always a favorite of mine and done really well here.
We added the Hokkien-style beehoon after our dishes arrived, and it turned out to be such a good choice. The noodles were soft, soaked up the rich gravy, and the pork lard gave it that extra kick of flavor.
Prices are very reasonable, and the place is family-friendly. They have a few large tables that can seat 6–8 people, though I’d recommend 6 for a more comfortable fit. One tip: their hot tea is served by the cup (refillable), so a couple can easily share one cup instead of...

This Chinese restaurant is from the same group as the famous Ya Wang, and it truly lives up to the reputation. I’ve visited many times, and it has become my go-to place for lunch in Johor Bahru.
The Kong Bak Pau here is a personal favourite — the braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender, rich, and flavourful, perfectly tucked into fluffy steamed buns. It’s a comfort food that never disappoints.
We also had the steamed fish, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked — delicate, juicy, and complemented by a light soy-based sauce that didn’t overpower the natural taste of the fish.
The service is another highlight. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcomed. It’s clear they take pride in the food and hospitality.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in JB. I’ll definitely keep...
Read moreDelicious dang gui roast duck & big prawn claypot dong fen!!! But I am shocked to be served 2 other poorly executed dish…
The char siew is badly roasted which taste like cheap dry coloured pork especially when the staff is ok to my 半肥瘦 request.
The steam egg is such another poorly executed dish. The entire dish is porous, rough, dried and not smooth at all.
Crispy sotong youtiao is not good either but I guess that’s how it’s being served in the restaurant.
Having said the above, the roast duck is really moist, tender and flavourful and the sauce is rich and savoury!
The dong fen is delicious and fragrant as lots of lemongrass is used. The prawns is fresh and big!
Price is reasonable and dining environment is good. I will definitely visit the restaurant again for the dong fen...
