Sharing a good dining experience here,

Every dish we sampled was delicious & rich in flavours. The presentation of the food was also impressive, adding to the overall dining experience.

The menu at AL DAMASCUS offered a wide variety of options to cater to different palates, how ever salads were not available that day ( not sure if just only that day). The portion sizes were generous.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also great. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and well-versed in the menu, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring that all our needs were met. The manager was attentive to check on the food served to get feedbacks too.

The ambiance was clean and good during our visit. The restaurant boasted a tastefully decorated interior, with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and traditional Middle Eastern accents that added to the authentic atmosphere.

Need more cleanliness: The toilet ( only one) in level 2 could be properly maintained & keep clean.

To improve: Quality and the taste ok Baklava could be improved. Uodate 17-Nov-24: take away lamb mandi, it was full of the fatty meat which was not comfy to eat, the amount of actual meat was very less with bones. flavour for the rice is not much. additionally they charged for the sauces which included while dine there but for take away extra. So removing 2 stars.

This place seems closed, not sure permanently or not as of...

The figurative bad taste that was left in the mouth started even before you step in the restaurant.

My request to see the menu was brushed off offhandedly by a staff, seated on a high stool by the door, to a bare double-page card clipped to a standing board.

When informed that I couldn't find what I was looking for, the scrawny tyke then nonchalantly pointed to a fuller menu on a counter far from where he was: yes, zero customer service but maxxed with attitude. My apologies if I had inconvenienced you with my presence, young man!

And after travelling so far to be told that they don't take payment by card, that was the absolute last straw on the camel's back. They must surely know that their restaurant's location in the historic and touristic part of the city has many visitors coming from out of town.

There are a few other Arabic restaurants in JB which I have patronised. One or two better in the quality of their food and customer experience. But this eatery here has got to take the khunafa cake for the worst customer...

Just because we have the freedom to speak up online doesn't mean we should abuse it by spreading bad reviews and false accusations. Be kind and be fair with your words because the measure you use to judge others is the measure that will be used against you. And let's support local business owners trying to make a living making the community around us a better place. I came at around 6pm for dinner and in all fairness, the staff were really nice, greeted customers with their warm smiles. The food was really good, my 1st order came in less than 2 minutes and it was fantastic. The lamb is so tender and delicious, the rice is very tasty. The shawarma is mouthwateringly delicious 😋 😍 with its garlic sauce, and the chicken kebab is yummy!!!
