We stayed one night at Kingston Hotel 7 (Room 512). While the overall experience was decent for the price, the location is not as ideal compared to hotels like Fives, Susanna, Amari, or Holiday Inn.
The lobby and lift area had a noticeable sewage smell, but thankfully, our room was odor-free. I had read a review mentioning mosquitoes and thankfully we remained bite-free throughout the stay.
Cleanliness could use some improvement — one of the towels had two strands of hair, and the bedsheet had a small blood stain. That said, the linen didn’t have any bad smell. Sound insulation is poor — noise from nearby construction, the highway, and other rooms could be clearly heard. There's also a mosque next door, so loud morning prayer broadcasts are to be expected. Not recommended for light sleepers.
On the positive side, the staff were very professional — friendly and welcoming during check-in and every time we entered the hotel. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, although there was no room view. The TV came with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and more. Water pressure was strong, the heater worked well, and drainage was efficient. The aircon cooled the room quickly, which was much appreciated after a hot day.
However, more hanging space is needed in the bathroom, and the only hook was slightly loose.
Nearby, you’ll find Amma Restaurant (Indian cuisine) and two more cafes further down near Susanna.
Overall, I would consider staying again, hopefully with cleaner linen next time. It's not for fussy travelers, but acceptable for short stays if you're budget-conscious and can overlook...
Read moreSo, first of all—yes, there’s construction right in front of the hotel. And not the quiet, peaceful kind. I’m talking full-blown, wake-you-up-at-7AM-every-morning kind of noise. But hey, I’m not even mad about that. I get it. Cities grow, stuff gets built. Fine. I didn’t complain. I was a good guest.
But what really PISSED me off was what was happening right outside my room. Apparently, there’s a storage room directly in front of my door. And hotel staff seem to love that door more than life itself. They slam it like it owes them money. I’m talking loud, aggressive, earth-shaking SLAMS — over and over. Even at night. Even after 11 PM. Like… do you need a gym membership or are y’all just training for the Door Slam Olympics?
But wait, it gets better.
I left my room at 11AM and came back at midnight — totally exhausted. And guess what? The room looked exactly the same. Trash still in the bin. Towels still wet. Bed still messy like a crime scene. Housekeeping? Apparently, they decided my room was above cleaning. So I messaged the front desk, thinking it was just an oversight.
Their response? “Oh, we didn’t clean your room because you didn’t request it in advance.”EXCUSE ME, WHAT? Since when do I need to RSVP for basic hygiene? What is this, a five-star hotel for people who hate cleanliness?

Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Here’s a breakdown of my stay:
Pros: • The location is convenient for traveling as it’s close to the checkpoint and City Square.
Cons: • The hotel is located near a mosque, and loud, persistent music can be heard throughout the day, which can be very disruptive. • Due to nearby construction, cars cannot enter the area. This means cabs drop you off on the main road, and you have to walk in with your luggage, which is quite inconvenient. • The cleanliness of the room was below standard. The floor was sticky, although hotel slippers were provided. • There were two small flies constantly flying around the room, adding to the discomfort. • The windows were extremely dirty, which made the view unpleasant. • The pillow was terrible—one of the worst I’ve ever slept on. It was so uncomfortable that I had neck pain throughout the night. • At 3:15 AM, I was woken up by loud knocking noises and could hear people talking, which ruined any chance of restful sleep.
Overall, despite its strategic location, the poor maintenance, cleanliness, and noise issues made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend staying here unless these issues...
