Came here during June and honestly this place was quite good, let me explain. First of all the service was good, staffs were very friendly as well and we felt welcomed and comfortable. For ordering they'll give you a tablet to place order, you can order broth first and then decide on the food toppings you want later. Let the broth heat up first. As for seating wise, for 2 pax seater side was slightly on a smaller space, was quite worried might bump into others table when trying to get out. Note that toilets are all outside of the restaurant so remember to do your business before taking a seat especially if youre 1 pax. The plating were nice and nothing was spoiled. Can't exactly remember what broth we ordered but both of the broth was scrumptious. It could be more salty towards the end tho however. The server will also help you top up the broth if they notice the broth are on the low side which was nice. I ordered fish skin and it was crispy for quite a long time and it taste good, nicely seasoned as well. As for the Hojicha i believe was sooo goooddd!! it was not overly sweet and i love the texture of the grains/rice that was with it. Would definitely order this again! They also have a condiments section if you need extra flavours for your meat dippings. Personally recommend everyone to try this place out at least once, its pricey but its hella worth it!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Arashi Shabu-Shabu in City Square JB, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of excellent. Each dish was meticulously prepared, bursting with flavor, and made with the freshest ingredients. The variety of shabu-shabu options available catered to all tastes, making it a perfect spot for both shabu-shabu enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and comfortable. The stylish decor and well-thought-out layout provided a warm and cozy ambiance, making it an ideal place for both casual meals and special occasions. What truly set our dining experience apart was the outstanding service. The staff at Arashi Shabu-Shabu were incredibly attentive and enthusiastic about providing top-notch service. Our server, Kian Min, went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable meal. Always smiling, Kian Min was proactive in finding ways to enhance our dining experience, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Overall, Arashi Shabu-Shabu in City Square JB offers a fantastic combination of excellent food, a great atmosphere, and stellar service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. We will definitely be returning!

TLDR; Overhyped steamboat that isn’t even that cheap… just milking the SG crowd My friends and I got 4 soup sets: the milk soup, spicy milk, tonkotsu and herbal chicken. First of all, most of the soups lacked the “thickness” and flavor of soup bases from standard hotpot restaurants like HDL or Beauty in the Pot. But maybe the standards at these places are higher? My friend who got the milk soup found it thin and tasteless, almost literally flavored like milk. The rest of the soups got better after evaporating slightly but the start of the meal was pretty drab and uninteresting. Secondly, the sets come with barely any meat. While the mixed vege/beancurd/fish and meatball side was pretty hefty and well-portioned, there were only SIX slices of meat per set… imagine our disappointment after the standard meat portion we are used to from other hotpot restaurants. Even a child wouldn’t find that filling. Thirdly, they charge for a nasty guava starter dish/appetizer that we didn’t even ask for. 4 of us at a table were given two small bowls of it and charged RM10. Low key a scam and everyone feels this way, please. The meal was about RM300 for 4 people. I leave it to you to decide if paying half the price of HDL for 1/10 of the quality (not to mention service) is worth it. Not a horrible meal but probably won’t be back.

We ordered tomatoes, herbal and tonkostu soup and I cant choose a favourite because all tasted good and has the good points: herbal was really strong in its taste but still light enough to drink, tomato was also good and flavourful and tonkotau was really rich and good! There is an appetiser at the start and also free flow condiments counter. There is around 8 sauces available and a big shout out to the hong Kong special sauce! The value worth set meal should be a must try! With a good portion amount of meat and vegetables and also other typical hot pot ingredient, it is extremely filling at the end of the meal. This Individual hot pot set really challenges you to finish what you own, but in a good way 😄 I opted for pumpkin ramen as the carbs option. Don’t really taste any pumpkin flavour but it also doesn’t have the starchy taste like the usual yellow noodle, which is good! They have a bowl, yet after it is cooked, it really is a huge portion! The staff were super friendly and nice too! They come to our table and helped us refill our soup and water without needed to be prompted. Overall a good meal to enjoy!! Oh yes, I recommend to also add chawanmushi to your set too because it’s super good too!

Pretty decent place to have shabu shabu / steamboat if you do not want to eat from Hai Di Lao or other franchises. Located on 2nd floor of the mall and they have several outlets throughout JB. Price is decent for their set lunch and gives you peace of mind that you do not overspend and therefore overeat on your calories. Milk broth and curry milk broth are decent and not too overwhelmingly strong. Easy on the palate and does not spoil your appetite. Meat, seafood, vegetables and noodles are good and fresh. Overall it seems like a good price point to satisfy your steamboat craving. The self service sauce station does have limited sauces available. If they could improve the choices it will be great. The overall price point is slightly below Hai Di Lao and other steamboat franchises to make your wallet / purse feel comfortable. If you add more dishes, the better choice would be to visit Hai Di Lao where the broth is better with more selections and meat portion is larger.
