Cheotnun Cafe — Restaurant in Johor

A cozy cafe with minimalist decorations. We went there for matcha dessert. We tried their Matcha bingsu and Matcha pancake soufflé.

Ordering via QR code provided. However, for the matcha pancake soufflé not appear in QR order. Need to go to the cashier and order separately.

Waiting time around 30 minutes during not peak hour. We received the bingsu first, then after several time, we almost finished the bingsu, then only the matcha pancake soufflé appeared.

The bingsu itself got strong matcha taste. The ice cream on top of it slightly tastes the matcha. For matcha pancake soufflé, the matcha powder got strong taste. Balanced with the panacake. Smooth pancakes texture. Very airy and like foam. We love it.

Overall we enjoy our dessert there. Only that we did requested for plain water, but till we go back no plain water received. Maybe overlook by the cashier. But nvm, we got matcha...

Cheotnun Cafe in Taman Austin Heights has a cozy, modern vibe that’s really inviting. It’s a nice spot for a casual meet-up or even a special occasion. The menu has some interesting options, like the Chocolate Toast, which was a tasty treat with a good balance of crispy and soft textures. The Kimchi Pasta was a bit different—definitely a fusion dish with a nice kick from the kimchi. The Shake Shake Bibimbap was fun to mix and had fresh ingredients 👍🏻🥰

The Green Tea Latte was smooth and satisfying, The Mango Bingsu was refreshing and great for a hot day, The service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. 😍✨

The waiters were very polite and provided good service. The churros were nice and crispy; however, the pasta had a very basic flavour. I honestly think I could cook better myself. On top of that, I found a strand of hair in my pasta, which is completely unacceptable. This raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene and cleanliness. Is the kitchen properly maintained? Should the Ministry of Health inspect this place?

While the restaurant looks nice, the food quality and hygiene do not match the price. I paid over RM100 for just three plates of pasta, churros, and 2 jasmine matcha teas, and it was definitely not worth the money. Definitely, I won’t be...
