RICEATER CAFE & RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Johor

This restaurant is located right behind our house. I had dinner here with all of my siblings, and I must say, all of the food was unpalatable. The burger steak that my sister and I had was horrible. It was cold in the middle, and the sauce was too sweet and salty. It didn’t go well with the steak, which made the taste weird.

As for the spaghetti, the salted egg sauce was overpowering, and I could literally smell the odour of the egg, which made me nauseous. The kimbap? Oh God, it was ridiculous, too salty, and the tteokbokki sauce tasted like instant powder from Jung Mart.

The waiter was great and very polite and I had no issues with that. However, the atmosphere was dull, and the lighting was dim. I paid more than a hundred, and it was absolutely not worth it. The desserts here on another level for me and very balanced and yummy, and the tiramisu here was spot on for me with a bit of colder bits that provided a bit of texture, and you can taste the alcohol without it being too overpowering.

For the seasalt oolong matcha, it tasted a bit like a hojicha at first but slowly transitioned to a matcha with a hint of seasalt as advertised, it was really refreshing for me as I never had matcha in this way before.

The Paris Brest was also really immaculate and the cream was light and fluffy and the choux pastry was delightful.

Not really a fan of the Lotus Vienna Coffee, but my girlfriend enjoyed it 👍🏻

This is a fusion cafe serving Japanese, Korean and western cuisine. The variety and type of food on the menu is refreshingly different from the ubiquitous cafes mushrooming all over town and clearly is one cut above those cafes. The setting is cosy and elegant befitting it as such a cafe . The food also tastes good and delicious. The mushroom soup is thick and creamy and delicious.
