Went there today, the shop was fully occupied but thankful 1 table was avail on our arrival. Lots of crowd keep coming in and they have to wait outside in order to get a place to seat. This place serves variety of meals and main highlight is briyani. I tried their pottalam briyani, its basically a combo briyani consist of chicken, mutton and prawn. To my surprise, the briyani tasted so good and the price us reasonable. We also tried the chicken 65 briyani which was served with generous amount of chicken. Their chola special was mutton dum briyani made with seeraga samba rice, it gives a different taste just felt it would be nicer if boneless mutton was used.
As for drinks, as recommended by many, I tried their kumbakonam coffee, it was served in a Indian coffee cup and the taste was so rich, creamy and sweet. I repeated the coffee, lol.also tried their jigirthanda duth, we liked it too, basically it was almond milk.
Many was trying their briyani set with mix meat which comes with chicken, mutton, fish and prawn. The fun part here, the serving is done with kaithi music at the background.
Overall its a good place to have your meal and try to avoid their peak time since you will need to...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at this incredible South Indian cinema concept restaurant, and it was an experience like no other. From the moment I stepped in, I was transported into the vibrant world of Indian cinema, with posters of iconic films adorning the walls and classic movie soundtracks playing in the background.
The menu was a treasure trove of South Indian delights, featuring tantalizing dishes such as kattu sorru, biryani, kaitti biryani, and Bahubali dosai, each bursting with authentic flavors and spices. Every bite was a journey through the diverse culinary landscape of India, leaving me craving for more.
The ambiance was lively and colorful, with kollywood-inspired decor adding to the festive atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal.
Whether you're a fan of South Indian cuisine or simply looking for a unique dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit spot in JB. I highly recommend it to anyone craving mouthwatering Indian food and a dose of cinematic nostalgia.
Don't forget to wash it down with their Masala tea, chocolate coffee and kumbakonnam Degree coffee...
Read moreCame all the way from JB Custom area as my hotel is near there and i was not disappointed:) I was solo travelling, and again i miss the food already. I guess their speed depends on the timing, i went around 230-3pm and i ordered their Pothalam Biryani with Mango lassi and it was all super good. Service was nice. They were all friendly especially the lady:) Very welcoming and she spoke english too so ordering was easy for me. She answered my enquiries all smiles and the food came out super fast.
Pothalam briyani came with the prawn, chicken and mutton i think and it was extremely fragant and delicious. Best biryani i've put in my mouth, i lowkey wished i live in Malaysia now instead of Singapore🥲. The guy at the drinks area also saw that i havent got my mango lassi so he gave me ice water automatically which was very nice:)
The mango lassi was very refreshing, sweet and delicious, one of the best ive had too.
