Monaco Signature @ Toppen Shopping Centre — Restaurant in Johor

I recently had the opportunity to try out a new restaurant that had garnered quite a bit of buzz in the community. With high hopes and an eager appetite, I walked in, ready to experience what they had to offer. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met, as the food fell short in several areas.

Their roasted chicken, which was unfortunately dry and lacking in flavor. It felt overcooked, and it didn’t have the juicy, tender quality I had anticipated. Next, the paella, which was a major disappointment. It was tasteless and lacked the vibrant flavors that typically characterize this beloved dish. The ingredients felt uninspired and didn’t come together well, leaving me longing for the rich, savory notes that make paella a culinary delight.

Additionally, the mushroom soup was another letdown. It seemed to be made from a powdered mix diluted with water, resulting in a bland flavor profile that did not reflect the comforting and earthy taste I was hoping for.

However, I must commend the person in charge for their exceptional service recovery. Upon noticing my dissatisfaction, they promptly approached me to address my concerns and offered to replace my meal. Their attentiveness and willingness to make things right truly made a difference in my experience.

While the food did not meet my expectations, I appreciate the effort to rectify the situation. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback to heart and improves their menu. With some adjustments, I believe they have the potential to create a much more satisfying dining experience. I look forward to giving them another chance...

My 1st experience with friends (5 of us) was good. But 2nd time their offer banner meal rm25. 99 all days with salad and soup of the day. And add on 2.99 for ice lemon tea free flow. Sad that their soup less than 1/2 of the bowl (fork show the dapth for the suop) . So pathetic and when i ask to top up drink ice lemon tea (suppose to be free flow) staff stay free flow if i get the standard price rm5. ++. I have to argue with waiter to educate them what is free flow. Even manager also don't know about the promo and have to see the banner to understand.... With this kind of promo, might as well keep your food for your family.. im sure this restaurant will...

Food was mostly delicious, attentive staff. We enjoyed the Galbi Grill, Lamb Chop and Beef Butter Rice. Fish and Chips burger was less crispy than ideal, and the bun was too stiff. And there was a smoky addition to the chips that I personally didn't enjoy. Otherwise, worth the price in terms of portion. It was relatively empty when we came at 12pm on a Saturday. Maybe a bigger display menu can attract the crowd or maybe its the price point; its also a bit hidden behind...
