Doma Korean Cuisine — Restaurant in Johor

Hi Management of Doma, we visited your good restaurant sometime in the 2nd week of November. We made a reservation prior to coming to your good restaurant. On the day of the visit, a foreign speaking guy, accent believed to be Korean attended us, he asked us to take a seat near the door, we saw that the view was nicer on the big window side, so we requested it, and the guys said that's for reservation. We mentioned to him, we had made a reservation, and his reply to us was "sit", pointing to a table near the entrance. We nicely spoke in simple English in case there was a language barrier, explained to him that a reservation had been made, and since window seats are meant for reservations, we would like to have the nice view window seats. His reply now turns into a rude order tone "SIT", and I assume he is trying not to understand my long English. Hence we sat at a table far from the window. No matter how nice the ambience is, no matter how nice the food was, the rude service experience ruins everything. Even if we were to dine in Doma again, we will dine in other outlets. We were furious on that day, we did not leave you any review immediately. Google knew we were on a 12 days road trip crossing 3 countries, we planned food along the way, and Google sent me a long list of restaurants and places for review lately, and I slowly made them one by one. When I have time, i will write long review, if I don't have time, I will leave short review (not based on no basis or slander, not a nice word to use, that's a double whammy) Hardly guests leave their review almost instantly or within the same day, some do, some don't. Hope this reply helps, and you may start to work on your customer service. Waited for 45mins, non of the staff wanted to clean any of the table that customers have already left. They tried so hard to "avoid" cleaning any of the tables. Gave up on waiting as the staff doesnt seem to eager to attend to people that is queqe-ing and waiting. Very disappointed as i have seen good review for the food but did not know they have such bad and lousy service. Maybe better luck next time?

The feedback from this review from this place is fake, we were not even able to talk to any of the staff as they were to busy to not care or be concerned about customers who waited more than 30mins outside.

That day, our reservations were fully booked, so a wait was necessary. When a table became available upstairs (non-BBQ table), our staff informed you, but you preferred to wait for a downstairs table. We always strive to accommodate our guests as best as we can, and our team did their best in this situation as well. The additional wait time was due to your seating preference, not because we were avoiding or neglecting you.

I dont think i can bring myself to even go to this place and try their food cuz of they way they cant own up to their mistakes n just blame it on their customer, unbelievable n shocked...

Made reservations but staff were quick on their feet to serve us. Seated after 15 minutes of waiting on a packed weekend.

Orders were taken immediately and side dishes served before they rolled out the BBQ meat.

The meat portion is quite small, but the quality of the cooked dishes made up for the experience. We ordered a chicken, pork and beef set for $160RM. They also served us iced unsweetened tea, included.

Surprisingly everything (side dishes) was not very spicy, it was mildly spicy and pleasant to eat. The beef and seaweed stew was very savoury and delicious. The fried Korean pancake is a tad oily but the texture of it was amazing, crispy and warm. Very delicious! Most of the patrons are observed to have places lots of orders of the other main dishes like japchae (stir fried glass noodles).

The staff who cooked the meat were very swift and it was a wonderful experience.

Overall if you're looking to have a bit of this and that to satisfy that Korean craving, you can definitely hit Doma. But if you're looking for really yummy BBQ at a better price with good quality and appropriate amount, you have other options.
