KS Treasures Restaurant 美乐轩XO海鲜粉小厨 — Restaurant in Johor

My recent visit to KS Treasures Restaurant left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant's reputation, the overall experience fell short of expectations, with several notable shortcomings marred the dining experience. First and foremost, the service was disappointingly tardy. Our orders took an unusually long time to arrive, and even when they did, they were not as expected. The Ice Vegetable starter, intended to whet our appetites, arrived late and was mistakenly mixed with rockets instead of the dish we had ordered. This initial mishap set a negative tone for the meal to follow. The culinary disappointments didn't end there. The fish maw soup, a dish I had high hopes for, missed the mark entirely with its excessive saltiness. The renowned 辣子鸡, a restaurant's signature dish, was equally underwhelming. The chicken lacked the promised crispiness, leaving much regarding texture and flavour to be desired. Moving on to the Crab Noodle, it was, at best, average. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest skipping this dish altogether, as it failed to leave any lasting impression. Similarly, the stewed pork knuckles failed to impress. The lack of quality soy sauce and inadequate stewing time resulted in only the outer layer possessing any semblance of flavour, leaving the inner portions bland and unappealing. Overall, my experience at KS Treasures Restaurant was far from satisfactory. From tardy service to disappointing culinary offerings, the restaurant failed to deliver on its promises of a memorable dining experience. This is the first time I’m leaving a negative review for a restaurant. The waiter Peter was pushy and sized up the portions of the food we ordered to charge us more & his attitude immediately switched up when we did not want to order the live fish which was expensive. He started speaking in a rude tone.

We ordered the small portion of noodles as we ordered quite a few other things, but he sized it up to a medium. When we asked him he said it’s a small and that if we truly wanted the smallest we should’ve said we want the individual portion…what logic is that LOL there’s no individual option on the menu??Then we asked other staff what size the noodles were and they said medium. So obvious he wanted to round up to charge us more.

We ordered 6 different dishes and none of them tasted good in my opinion. The kai lan was greasy, the fish slices were overcooked and the crab truffle dish tasted more like scrambled eggs, idk where the crab went. My family members went before and said the food was better before this & the boss is nice. I wouldn’t have left a bad review if it was just the food that was bad, but the attitude of the server & the dishonesty isn’t acceptable. At the end when we wanted to ask for the bill Peter asked us to go inside and ask for it ourselves in a rude tone, but for other tables who ordered more expensive stuff he happily served them and gave the bill. Cross the border tdy to xpore nice food , massage n shopping. Saw plenty of good review abt this restaurant, they indeed do deserve a 5 star rating. Y 5 star ? Food l wld give a 4 star, y 5 star is bcoz of their attentive good service. They allow us to leave our small luggages at their restaurant n go for our massage while waiting for their restaurant to open. I actually did my homework regarding what to order. They do change plate automatically every now n then which is a plus point too. Pouring tea automatically always. Truly a v nice dining experience beside their good food. We ordered the 1)Indonesia curry prawn-10/10 , prawn r fresh the gravy go so well with the deep fry mantou. 2)Stir fry french bean-10/10, 3)Very special kailan, part deep fried portion with pork floss 10/10 4)Steam bamboo clam with Vermicelli 8/10, sauce lack perfectness. Not salty enough n garlic a little over powering ,clam not the good fresh quality. Shld improve on that. 5)Fried rice with crab meat- 7/10, they imported special rice for this dish. V fluffy but not salty enough as a result did not impress us. Could taste better if the saltines could be more, it taste a little blend.
