Simple Nasi Lemak — Restaurant in Johor

Simple Nasi Lemak is ranked as one of the popular Nasi Lemak spots in the city centre of Johor Bahru.

I had patronised this eatery because I was staying at TROVE Johor Bahru, located just across the road. So, I decided to give it a try for my breakfast on a Saturday morning.

There were only a few diners at the time of my visit. Well, I assumed this place is more popular during the night for supper sessions.

I had ordered the following which comes to a total of RM10:

Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng - RM8.50 Telur Goreng - RM1.50

Unfortunately, the Coconut Rice was not to my liking as I found it gluey. Perhaps the Chef was just having a bad day? On the other hand, the Fried Chicken was well marinated and tasted tender. The sweetness and spiciness of the Sambal Chilli with Anchovies was well balanced. This is a simple, yet fulfilling meal.

Note: There were several stray cats roaming the grounds of the eatery. They will come approaching you for food by caressing your legs to catch your attention. This place may not be for you If you do not enjoy pets being near you...

Went there to eat they have char kuey teow, etc but I ordered Nasi Lemak. Not many people. Nasi lemak looks uninspiring, only chicken. I got tiny bit of nuts+anchovies, one fried chicken, tiny bit sambal. RM11 rice isn't much, very hard, undercooked. I failed to understand why they're just selling 1 thing but can't even perfect it or make it the least bit palatable. Those people giving fake reviews should be ashamed because it's deceiving people into coming for bad bad food. Honest review here, I can make tons better and would be shameful to serve such crap food to customers.

UPDATE: 3am, had the worst stomach ache and crams, and I only ate nasi lemak and nothing else. They should seriously close down I'm super the sambal...

I tried this place before it was not too bad but this time around I had the worst nasi lemak. The rice was not cooked and when we told the workers they just ignored us. They didn’t bother to change or give a discount for the food. Also it was disgusting as workers were just picking food and eating and serving food at the same time. Chicken was tasty but very small. It was rm10. Very disappointed. Also don’t ever try the Nasi Ayam chilli gesek. Basically nasi Ayam penyet style but the bad version. Never gona...
