Kampung Carabao Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Johor

Went to this place with my aunt last Saturday. Wanted to have dinner. Ordered Tom Yam Fried Mee Hoon, Nasi Goreng Kampung, Sambal Kangkung Belacan, Beansprouts with Ikan Masin and the drinks Iced Blended Soursop and Rose Syrup with Lemon. Really disappointed with their service because both my aunt n me have waited for our food for almost 30 mins. After 45 mins my aunt decided to ask one of the staff why the food so late. The staff told my aunt that today most of the food are late due to a lot of customer. Have to wait longer around 45 mins to 1 hour. Both my aunt n I were so angry and my aunt asked the staff why in the first place didn't inform that there will be longer waiting time for the food to be serve. So my aunt decided to cancel the order. She just want to pay for the drinks. When my aunt want to pay for the drinks, the cashier keep saying that our order are ready to be packed away. While waiting for the food to be packed away, the cashier give my aunt voucher. I asked my aunt why so long to pay the drink, my aunt told me that they already packed our food. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kampung Carabao, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

The menu offers a fantastic variety of authentic Thai dishes, but I couldn’t resist starting with the Tom Yum Goong, which was a perfect balance of spicy, sour, and fragrant. The prawns were fresh and juicy, adding to the overall depth of flavor. For the main course, I tried their signature Pad Thai, and it was simply the best I’ve had—perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of sweetness and crunch from the peanuts.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail in every dish, from the presentation to the quality of the ingredients. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. They also took the time to explain the dishes, making sure we understood the spice levels and ingredients.

I've been to Kampong Carabao restaurant few times. The food taste excellent and value for money however the services is not up to expectation. We had to waves our hand few times to get the service staff attention to order additional food and none of them able to notice us. Our table was quite messy after the meal and was thinking to order some desserts. Frustrated waving to get service attention, we paid our bill and walked out to have desserts elsewhere.

I asked the service staff where is your manager and she pointed him to me. He was sitting down playing with his mobile phone throughout the evening while the restaurant was so busy that need him to supervise on which he didn't even bother.

O dear! Restaurant owner, I think it's time for you to look and observe personally what is happening in your restaurant. You hired a manager to supervise the restaurant and he is playing with his mobile phone. The restaurant was quite full and a manager is sitting down looking at his mobile phone for hours while the restaurant is super busy. He is not seen on the floor supervising the outlet.
