We were there for tea break or rather late lunch. Parking was limited and we were lucky to get a parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Free Parking. We ordered:
Chicken thigh Ipoh dry curry horfun - Spicy level was adequate (individual preference), and it was savoury and umami. Chicken thigh meat was nice, the hor fun was silky smooth and QQ. Nicely cooked to almost perfection. I usually love curry mee using yellow noodles but this was good eventhough im npt a hor fun person 😅
Dumpling dry noodles (black sauce) - my favourite 🥰, sweet savoury and really FLAVOURFUL with a blast of fragrant pork lard flavour! Definitely for pork lard lovers. Noodles were smooth and QQ, very well cooked and we were surprised by how tender the char siew was aswewere expecting the usual dry thin char siew slices. But this was tender and nice to the bite! The dumpling were large bcos we were expecting finger nail-size wantons 🤣. The meat and shrimp in the dumplings were fresh and sweet. This was my favourite.
Ipoh Horfun - the brother was clean and flavourful. Horfun smooth and QQ. Really perfect if u want something simple and not too ever powering in taste.
Ipoh Prawn Kway Teow - spiciness was acceptable. Again this would be personal preference. The broth was really flavourful and the sambal pairs quite well.
Margerine Sugar Toast - really toasty and perfect for kids.
Garlic toast - toasty with a nice fresh garlic aroma. I would say the staff put in a good effort on the plating. The boss said that this will be the only place u see toast stacked up like this. Symbolising 步步高升 😆
Kaya butter toast - nice and toasty
Signature White Coffee - very flavourful and not too sweet. Love the coffee roasted aroma and would love to have another glass.
Teh C - smooth and silky. Not too sweet and with a nice aroma.
Kopi O -...
Read moreThe lala hotpot soup showed promise with its tasty broth, but the sandy texture of the clams hinted at a lack of thorough cleaning, detracting from their freshness. While the dish fell short in that aspect, the restaurant redeemed itself through its efficient service and convenient amenities.
The Positives Flavorful Soup Base: The broth was well-seasoned and delicious, providing a satisfying base for the hotpot. Attentive Service: The staff was prompt in attending to our needs, ensuring a smooth dining experience. Convenient Amenities: The availability of free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and open-air seating options catered to different preferences. Additionally, the free parking just outside the restaurant was a welcome convenience.
Despite the shortcoming with the lala, the restaurant's strengths in service and amenities make it a viable option. I look forward to returning and sampling their other offerings, hopeful that the attention to detail in ingredient preparation will be elevated to match the positive aspects of the...
Read moreWe decided to visit his establishment today to have lunch since they served Ipoh cuisine.
I ordered their Curry Ipoh Hor Fun with chicken drumstick (RM16.90) signature dish. It also came with piece of char siew and boy it was awesomely delicious. I highly recommend that you have this if you ever patronise this outlet in Pelangi.
While my wife ordered the dry wantan noodles (RM11.90) which also good. For my next visit I’m definately gonna try the Ipoh Hor Fun because I tried the soup and it was flavourful and fantastic.
