Came here with family on a random evening, we planned to go to Warakuya right beside this place but was too crowded and hence decided to give this place a try. The restaurant had dividers so every guest was sitting in a relatively private dining area which is pretty nice. Though, I thought the decor was a bit dull and non-comfy. We ordered quite a few dishes but i was able to taste the following: Bara Sushi, Yellowtail Head Sakamushi, Yaki Gyoza, Tempura Moriawase ,Unagi Kabayaki, Twin Maki and Salmon Aburi Maki Rolls. Starting off the meal, we were served the Unagi Kabayaki which i thought was extremely underwhelming given the price of it, it was not crispy at all, sauce used was also overwhelming perhaps to mask the fishy aftertaste of the Unagi. Next, I tasted the Tempura and Gyoza, the Gyoza was fine, pretty average pot stickers in my book and the Tempura was also just average (I didn’t like the excessive batter but the ingredients were fresh). The Bara Sushi came next and surprised me as the first 3 dishes did not impress at all. The Bara Sushi was filled with generous portions of fish and they all tasted extremely fresh. Definitely get this if you are coming here. As I was wolfing down my Bara Sushi, the Yellowtail Head Sakamushi arrived and it was also really good, fish was very fresh and delicious with no fishy aftertaste, it was fantastic. Lastly, the two rolls arrived and by then we were already quite full, however, these 2 rolls were also quite average tasting. All in all the food was quite mediocre and average except for the seasonal items and seafood which were very fresh and tasted great. Alcohol was also super expensive here, we paid 30RM per highball that we could barely taste...

We patronised this Japanese Restaurant since 5 years ago with at least 2-3 times a year. The recent visit was yesterday (14 Feb 2021) for dinner. We are very happy with the quality of food and service in this restaurant, hence we are the repeat customers till today. We learned from the Restaurant Manager that this restaurant is actually Japanese owned. Therefore, we saw Japanese diners almost every visit and the setting/ ambience is very authentic Japanese feel. There was even a Japanese old lady working as waitress during our initial visits. We would try different menu items during our visit. Our spending usually range from RM120 to RM200 for dinner of 2 person. What we ordered yesterday were Unagi Kyuri Su (RM18 for sliced eel with seaweeds & cucumber), Hotate Miso Yaki (RM38 for grilled scallops with Miso), Yaki Gyoza (RM9 for fried dumplings), Chawan Mushi (RM16 for 2 sets steam egg), Chuka Lidako (RM9 baby octopus cold plate), Natto (RM7 for fermented beans), Sushi Moriawase (RM38 for assorted sushi) & Unagi Maki (RM32 for Unagi sushi). Total bill was RM193.70 after 6% SST & 10% service tax. We were satisfied with the food & service as usual. However, there is one thing to highlight is that we were told that extra ginger will be charged at RM3 for 2nd top up onwards. We were a little unhappy why the management is so petty about the extra ginger for repeated customers like us with average spending of RM120-RM200 per visit in the past 5 years. We made the same request in the past and there weren’t any extra charge. So we are unsure if this is a newly implemented policy. Hence, our past experiences have been 4-5 star, but it is discounted to 3 star this time due to this little...

In summary: Average food, not fantastic. Space is small, but overall ambiance is okay. TERRIBLE service. Thus, I am giving only a star, and if I could, I would have given NO star at all.

Giving my review to caution new/existing customers. My family and I had been frequent patrons of the restaurant, at one point, we would visited almost weekly. However, recently, the service was dismal in particular one lady (not sure of her name but she's this petite, younger lady, wearing blazer with pants and not the usual waitress/server outfit - I presume a SUPERVISOR).

We would normally patronise the restaurant on weekdays and there was once we requested for a larger table as we carrying heavy bags with laptops and the restaurant was not full. The request was REJECTED and only upon explaining to the higher ups, we were given a larger table.

Thus, this incident began the MISTREATMENTS we endured in our following visits by this lady. There were two particular incidents where this lady displayed such bad and horrible attitude - (1) we overheard this lady complaining to her colleague that we won't accept smaller table despite being given a table fit for a party for four - which is so uncalled for; (2) we visited yesterday (2 Mar 2025) and requested wasabi, but she IGNORED our request and we had to ask from another server.

This is not a one-time incident and it seems like this woman is ONLY showing this kind of attitude towards us. My advice: Train your staff. As such, thanks to her, they will be losing a customer and we will DEFINITELY NOT be patronising this...

Cute japanese restaurant that really provides privacy for patrons! 🥘 : Salmon sashimi was really fresh and delicious. Their wasabi wasn’t too painful to eat (unlike the cheap ones from big franchises) My partner got their ramen as well (Can’t exactly remember what’s the name but it’s seafood) The noodles were cooked to perfection and even takes on the broth smell which was a pleasure to have. Broth was not too heavy not too bland. Their seafood was generous and the prawn they had were actually big. We got the salmon inarj maki as well. I thought it was just ok-ok, because the texture of the salmon was alrd soft and on top of that with the inarj felt a little weird, both sweetness from both ingredients went a little weird together. At least for us, we didn’t really enjoy that. But their soft shell crab handroll was really good, it wasn’t too small and it was fried nicely, not too oily not too soggy. Chawanmushi was okok too, nothing special. Service🤵🏻🤵🏻‍♂️: They were really friendly and polite, super quick to respond and helpful when we asked for recommendations. Atmosphere: They have partitions between each tables, to provide privacy i believe which was what my partner and i appreciate a lot. They had really cute small cubicles for bigger groups and you actually get to sit on the floor etc. Aesthetic wise was really nice and just felt like a wholesome authentic japanese restaurant. Overall it was a pleasure to have a meal there and we will definitely come back!
