Tony Roma's — Restaurant in Johor

I'm writing as a mom who was there with a young child, and I honestly don't recommend families with young kids to patronise here, even though they offer kids meal. And here's why:

Kids meal has hidden conditions, and that is, you must order an ala-carte full-priced item from the menu. We didn't know at first when we ordered, the staff did not highlight to us then, and only came back to reject us when they printed the receipt before our meals were served. Because of this. We changed our items several times and gave up on the free kids meal, and paid for an extra item my child cannot even finish.

The staff service was slow, and they seemed to be unclear about everything. They always say they will check and let us know for every thing we asked about the order, an they only came back after our food were served.

Even though service was slow, they are still in a friendly and apologetic tone. So for this, I gave them a 1-star bump from the single-star rating I wanted to give for the service.

I noticed if you are there as a group of adults, it didn't seem to have any issues, and with that, I concluded, Tony Romas not really a family restaurant, but for adult gatherings or couple dates might...

Although there are quite a few eating places here at Komtar, the one I've been wanting to give a shot is Tony Roma's. Since it's not halal in Singapore, my friend and I decided to try it out for the first time. We've been hearing so much hype about the steak and especially the ribs. And true enough, the ravings were justified.

We decided to order the lamb ribs instead of beef ribs (maybe for another time!). It comes with 2 sides of our choice so we took mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. We thought that might not be enough for the both of us, so we added the buffalo wings and drumettes as well.

So the verdict: Lamb Ribs was awesome! And serving is huuuge. For RM70+ we felt it was worth every penny.

Buffalo wings and drumettes, on the other hand, was not to our liking. Vinegar taste was too overpowering we couldn't get past it. But the cheese dip that came with it was so good.

I would definitely revisit...
