Disappointing Experience - A Hairy Mess

I recently stayed at Citrus Hotel in room 604, and my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment I checked in, I was appalled by the state of the room. Hair was scattered everywhere, from the bedsheet and pillows to hair stuck to the bathroom ceiling and even the toilet bowl. This lack of cleanliness was truly unacceptable and left me feeling disgusted.

To make matters worse, within just ten minutes of turning on the air conditioning, it began making an obnoxious motor sound. I had to take matters into my own hands and physically fix it by banging the aircon against the wall to secure it, but this only provided temporary relief. The noise resurfaced throughout the night, forcing me to tolerate it for the duration of my stay.

Additionally, the room was plagued by dust. The curtains were stained and covered in layers of dust, while the lampshade and floors were also noticeably dusty. This compelled me to wear my shoes at all times within the room, which was far from ideal.

Moreover, the overall condition of the room was deplorable. The floors were cracked and scratched, the fridge was leaking, and the bathroom floor exhibited stains and mold on the fittings. The toilet ceiling was also moldy, and the tap was loose and unstable. These issues demonstrated a lack of proper maintenance and care.

Furthermore, my stay was further marred by the lack of sound insulation in the rooms. There was a party taking place in the room opposite mine, with a maximum of 10 people inside. When I went to kindly request them to lower the volume, I realized that the walls were incredibly thin. The noise from the guests in the neighboring rooms was unbearable, making it impossible for me to get a good night's sleep.

To exacerbate the situation, the windows in my room were not properly sealed. The handles had been removed and the windows were permanently shut, but unfortunately, they were not soundproof in the slightest. Throughout the day and night, I was constantly bombarded with the noise of passing cars and blaring horns, turning what should have been a peaceful stay into a complete nightmare.

In conclusion, my experience at Citrus Hotel was extremely disappointing. The cleanliness of the room was subpar, the air conditioning was faulty, dust was prevalent, and the overall condition of the room left much to be desired. I hope that the management takes immediate action to address these issues and improve the quality of their...

We booked this hotel for our weekend getaway as it's near CIQ (Johor land customs). We came after work and didn't want to venture too far as we maybe tired. ||True enough it was a rainy Friday night when we set out for our getaway. The queued about an hour for the bus from Kranji station. Once we arrived at Woodlands immigration things where pretty smooth. Next moment we were at CIQ and it was closed to 11pm, many shops in the malls were closed. There are a few eateries if you arrive late in the CIQ building itself. ||It was a short walk along the street just outside of CIty Square before arriving at Citrius. The steets surrounding the hotel is filled with shops and food stalls so it's not very isolated. Check-in process was smooth. The hotel has 2 lifts servicing 10-11 floors. The lifts is rather slow and will require some waiting. However the lobby is spacious and there are seats (sofas) available when we were there. The lobby is usually man by someone that would help you with the lobby door as you enter or leave. This happens during "normal" hours.||Entrance to the room is via card and you have to slot and withdraw kind of lock. You don't need key card to access your level which means anyone can come up to the rooms. The room is basic but everything works. I must say the walls are quite thin and our room has adjacent door to another room. We can hear the TV and sometimes laughters from our neighbour. ||When you are out and about it's quite easy to get a Grab (e-hailing) from the hotel. However we noticed that it's usually more costly due to it's proximity from the customs and City Square/Komtar malls.||Check-out was smooth as well and you can store you bags until you are ready to retrieve them. They do provide you a luggage tag and keep you bags in a room behind the counter at the lobby. ||All in all if you want to quick no fuss place to stay this may be it. Or you can opt for Holiday Inn located at the other end of City Square. We haven't stayed at Holiday Inn but I guess they should be...

Worst hotel ever in my life. Booked a family room a night here last weekend. But it is a very terrible experience for me and my family. - SUPER DIRTY!!! Room wall is stained and some even with molds. Room is very humid as it has no window and bad air ventilation, we can feel the humidity as soon as we open the door. Worst thing is the blanket cover is stained with BLOODS!! I really don't know why, suspect hotel never change bedsheet and cover when the previous guest left. Otherwise why would change a new cover with stains? The floor is also dusty and sticky. Even if we were wearing the room slipper provided, can feel the floor is sticky and dusty. - Newly renovated?? Scam! It is advertised in Agoda saying it is newly renovated but I guess only the lobby. But not the room. The room is OLD... Amenties and electric appliances are old. - Old Aircond Aircond cover was half opened and cannot be closed... Noisy. - Bad soundproof Can hear clear and loud the TV sounds from next door. The room has a locked door not sure it is connected to room or what. We feedback to change room or refund from the front desk when we found out the issues, but the staff said cannot do anything as the hotel is full and they cannot even do a refund. We have no choice but to endure the bad hygiene and it has definitely ruined our mood for the trip. And we were paying RM330++ ish for a room, it's not even cheap. I stayed in different type of budget hotel/hostel/guesthouse/dorm before in Msia/oversea with similar or lower price range; but all the others are cleaner than this Citrus hotel. I noticed the twin room is better, but family room is worse - you know you called this a family room because there will be family staying in this room type but yet you give such dirty room to your guests? for real? I would not recommend this hotel to others and will tell my friends and family to avoid this hotel at all cost.
