I am a Muslim and I visited this temple on 17 July 2023, there is also a ticket Rm 20 for only Muslims. I visit this template because it was oldest temple in Malaysia. I have also written its history below. This temple, which is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Johor Bahru, is situated next to the railway tracks between Jalan Tun Abdul Razak and Jalan Mohd Taib, near the Tebrau Highway). It was established in 1922 as a simple shelter on land presented by the Sultan of Johor. In 1991, Sri Sinnathamby Sivasamy, who is currently temple chairman and chief priest, also known as Guru Bhagawan Sittar inherited the administration of the temple from his father. He has been the driving force behind the temple's renovation and expansion, committing to rebuilding it from the humble hut that it once was. Despite facing challenges and difficulties, the temple was rebuilt and officially reopened in 1996.

Visited in March before the shutdown. From the exterior, the Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is an innocuous looking South Indian style temple with a traditional gopuram. Inside the temple it's very different. Being far more elaborate and completely decorated in glass and glass mosaics. The decoration looks heavily influenced by Thai Buddhist temples, except that this temple has taken the glass to the extreme of having the glasswork everywhere. Other than the eye catching glassworks, the temple is fairly typical of Hindu temples with statues of deities dotted around the temple. Surprisingly, the temple also has sculptures of figures from religions including Christianity and Buddhism. Overall, a pretty standard temple, but with eye-catching interiors. The temple is a pain to get to, especially if walking, although I thought it was worth it nevertheless.

Entrance for RM10 unless you're Indian/Hindu. Based on the unfavorable reviews here complaining about service and attitudes, I guess they have become more tourist-friendly now, maybe because now there are not many tourists. By the time I visited it seems I was the only tourist, the dozen of others were all praying Indians. Not just they didn't charge me 0.5 extra for the shoe basket, they also allowed me to take written pictures without extra charge even though notices of taking pictures require RM3 per shot were still all over inside the temple. I would say, the glass temple was less than impressive especially after reading many favourable comments and getting my expectation a bit too high. After all, the temple was not big. There were really not much to see. The artistic effect is not too astounding. While it should be praised for its beauty and creativity, I'm not certain whether the entrance fee and the time was worth. However given that there are not many attractions nearby, I didn't regret having a look here.

Went there on 8 May at night around 8.30pm. No doubt it is a beautiful temple. We saw some Indians went for prayers and they told us it's free entrance when we are standing in front. After we taking off our shoes, there is a Indian guy suddenly approached us and insist to want us pay Rm10 per person to enter the temple. We are so confused, we told him the Indian auntie told us that it's FREE and we also asking around all the Indian enter for free without paying a single cents and say no need to pay. We felt little of being scammed so we left unhappily after blocking by the guy that want money from us at the entrance. Hope that the management can take some action against this kind of unfair discrimination treatment to each individual, it is so unfair that Chinese need to pay while Indian don't need...

Wondering if anyone has been to this Hindu temple, Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple? Do you have to pay RM 10 tourist fee if you want to pray only? I went there for the first time, and then I told a guy there that I came to pray, the man said okay no problem and asked me to pay RM10 first. I also paid him RM10, and then he gave me a yellow tourist ticket, and then asked me to visit the temple and take pictures casually. With a question mark on my face, I told the man that I was here to pray, not to take pictures as a tourist. The guy and the other guy just looked at me and laughed at me together. Then, I walked around and then left. Before leaving, a woman explained to me that praying starts at 7:00 pm. So isit that those who come to pray only also have to pay a tourist fee of RM10 ?

Small temple. But worth visiting! The inside of the temple is made of tiny colorful glass pieces. It gives a unique look to the temple. It would look small from outside... the temple gopuram is small. The main deity here is Kaali goddess. Little tricky to reach the place. I visited on friday morning at 9.30am. Google showed it as busy timing and crowded. Yet I gave a try and guess what... the temple was super free. Haha.. I could take nice pictures and videos of the temple. Sat there for some time. No need to buy tickets in advance. There was this Bramha shrine which was interesting to me. Actually looked like shiva lingam on lotus. There is a dining hall adjacent to the temple. Temple gave some old vibes.
