Looks awesome except the way they collecting money... I went with my family... Didn't pay any entrance fee... Once entered, there's a notice said got fees for photos and videos... Ok never mind as it's seems quite famous... So went paid Rm3/per device for taking photos(issued receipt). Then after prayed, taking pictures and left to exit, wearing shoes. A guy with whom I paid for photos taking, called me. I went inside temple with surprised feeling, because it's quite weird for me. He said they collecting charity for kumbabishegam in coming year. I questioned him ok then? He tried to sold a t-shirt with me which priced Rm38... So I bought a t-shirt to brother as he said charity. After paid, I asked him issue the receipt for me, he said "where got receipt for charity and I already gave you t-shirt for the money" . Me and my brother look each and other face. My mum said just leave it, as we done our responsibility. But I will be back again. Because it's seems like they trying many excuses or ways to earn money, it's obviously cheat and scam. If he officially issued receipt to me, I don't make it an issue. I need an update from...

I'm typically hesitant to leave low ratings, but my experience at this temple was egregious enough to warrant a warning to future visitors. If possible, I would have given it 0 stars. The journey to the temple is arduous, with a treacherous road and multiple mud puddles that resemble lakes after rainfall. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear, as I regretted wearing white shoes and socks.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with an exorbitant entry fee of $10 SGD, which seemed peculiar in Malaysia. When we questioned the price, the lady inexplicably increased it to $15 SGD, claiming it was $10 USD. The inconsistency and arbitrary pricing were appalling, with no regulation or transparency in sight. The handwritten receipt offered was inadequate, and the whole ordeal felt like a scam.

Unfortunately, the temple itself failed to impress, making the entire experience NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY. I strongly advise against visiting this temple, as it perpetuates a discriminatory and deceitful atmosphere. Save your time and resources for a more deserving...

Entrance for RM10 unless you're Indian/Hindu. Based on the unfavorable reviews here complaining about service and attitudes, I guess they have become more tourist-friendly now, maybe because now there are not many tourists. By the time I visited it seems I was the only tourist, the dozen of others were all praying Indians. Not just they didn't charge me 0.5 extra for the shoe basket, they also allowed me to take written pictures without extra charge even though notices of taking pictures require RM3 per shot were still all over inside the temple.

I would say, the glass temple was less than impressive especially after reading many favourable comments and getting my expectation a bit too high. After all, the temple was not big. There were really not much to see. The artistic effect is not too astounding. While it should be praised for its beauty and creativity, I'm not certain whether the entrance fee and the time was worth. However given that there are not many attractions nearby, I didn't regret having...

The is one of Johor Bahru's oldest Hindu temples. Designed in Dravida style, this South Indian temple stands out for its shimmering beauty, similar to the temples in Thailand. Established in 1922, this temple was only covered with glass in 2009. It was inspired after the chief priest chanced upon a shining-looking wat in Bangkok. 90 per cent of the temple is embellished by 300,000 pieces of glass mosaic. The temple is a short 600m (9mins) walk from DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru. It is tucked in a secluded spot, reachable via a dirt road. These are the admission fees to the temple: 🟣 Visitors from US, Europe, Canada, Australia, South America, Africa & Middle East - USD10 for the first person & USD5 for subsequent persons 🟣 Visitors from Malaysia & Local Chinese - RM10 for adult | RM5 for child* 🟣 Visitors from Asia - RM15 for adult | RM5 for child* *Below 12 years old This is an interesting temple and I recommend paying this place a visit if you are tired of the usual shopping and dining activities.

I am a Muslim and I visited this temple on 17 July 2023, there is also a ticket Rm 20 for only Muslims. I visit this template because it was oldest temple in Malaysia. I have also written its history below. This temple, which is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Johor Bahru, is situated next to the railway tracks between Jalan Tun Abdul Razak and Jalan Mohd Taib, near the Tebrau Highway). It was established in 1922 as a simple shelter on land presented by the Sultan of Johor. In 1991, Sri Sinnathamby Sivasamy, who is currently temple chairman and chief priest, also known as Guru Bhagawan Sittar inherited the administration of the temple from his father. He has been the driving force behind the temple's renovation and expansion, committing to rebuilding it from the humble hut that it once was. Despite facing challenges and difficulties, the temple was rebuilt and officially reopened in 1996.
