Nestled amidst the vibrant culinary scene of Langkawi lies a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it can get - an authentic South Indian restaurant that captures the very essence of home-cooked meals. As someone who cherishes the flavors of South Indian cuisine, stumbling upon this place felt like discovering a treasure trove.
Despite the geographical distance from the homeland, this establishment has mastered the art of bringing the comforting flavors of Mom's kitchen right to your plate. Each dish on the menu reflects the true essence of South Indian culinary tradition, leaving no doubt about its authenticity. The spices, the aromas, the textures - everything resonates with the soulful essence of home-cooked goodness.
However, what truly sets this place apart is not just its exceptional food but also the remarkable customer service, impeccable hygiene standards, and heartwarming hospitality. The staff's friendly demeanor adds an extra layer of warmth to the dining experience, making you feel like a cherished guest in someone's home.
And let's talk about value for money - the prices here are unbelievably reasonable, making it a budget-friendly choice without compromising on quality or taste. In a city where dining options can often be overpriced, this restaurant stands out as a beacon of affordability and excellence.
Without a doubt, I award this establishment a well-deserved 5-star rating for consistently delivering complete satisfaction. My only request to them would be to maintain this magic and homely touch forever, ensuring that every diner leaves with a smile of contentment. Thank you for the unforgettable...
Read moreWe went there looking for a decent Indian meal after looking at the reviews online. however, it was a disappointing experience to say the least. The host at first refused to give us the menu and instead orally listed available items.
We ordered two masala dosas, a veg biryani and a fish biryani. He also asked us if we wanted fresh juice along with our meals, so we ordered 2 orange juices.
The potato filling of the dosa was okay, the batter was better but could have been more fresh, it had a touch of sourness.
The biryani was decent.
However, the juice was a watered down, ice heavy suspect tasting orange flavoured drink that was supposed to be freshly pressed.
The biggest shocker of all was that instead of giving us a bill, the host showed us a few items scribbled on a piece of paper. The items I believe were exorbitantly priced. Nether the experience not the food justified the amount we were asked to pay.
Here’s a breakdown of the bill:
Total: 55 RM Out of this, the price of the juice was 18RM. That is more than 30% of the total.
I feel that we were overcharged and taken for a ride by the host. Really refreshing juices in comparable quantities can be found at other joints nearby for as little 5RM. I am talking about the Seafood restaurants in the opposite lane (do check those out if you are not a strict vegetarian)
The ambience drew us to this place but other than that it was a rough experience both for the palate and the wallet.
Will never come here again even though I will be visiting Langkawi and Kuah...
Read moreThis restaurant truly made us feel at home, transporting us to a Tamil Nadu village kitchen. The ambiance was delightful, and despite our initial concern about insufficient currency, Prabhu suggested we pay via GPay to an Indian number—a testament to the saying that Tamizhans are always there for you no matter where you go.
On the positive side, the chappathi, potato curry, chicken curry, and fried rice were exceptional. The lunch overall was satisfying, and the establishment efficiently handled the large crowd, taking orders and serving delicious dishes with care. The staff were friendly and approachable, adding to the pleasant experience.
However, there were a few areas for improvement. The fish fry could have been prepared fresh upon ordering instead of being pre-fried. It would also be beneficial to cut the vegetables and keerai into smaller pieces and reduce the amount of Kashmiri chili powder for frying. Additionally, reducing the oil in the egg omelette would allow customers to customize their preferences more easily.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to fellow Indians. Wherever we go, it's heartwarming to see the hospitality of Tamizhans shining through. Tanjore Boys, you guys are...
