Kaara Saaram Claypot Klang — Restaurant in Klang Municipal Council

I recently visited Kaara Saram Restaurant, known for their Thiruvizha Saapadu, with my family for dinner. The food was delicious, no doubt about that. However, our experience was somewhat marred by the service.

We were a group of two adults and two toddlers, so before ordering, I asked the waiter for his recommendation. He suggested the large portion, suitable for four people, but I opted for the small, meant for two, and planned to add extra rice later if necessary. The waiter mentioned extra rice would cost RM1, which was fine with me. We also ordered a mutton gravy dish.

When the Thiruvizha Saapadu arrived, we were surprised by the generous portion of rice—it was more than enough for all of us. Shortly after, the mutton gravy came with its own set of rice, which left me confused. When I called the waiter to clarify, he explained that every gravy ordered comes with rice. This was never mentioned during the ordering process, despite me asking about adding extra rice. I don’t know if he genuinely forgot or if it was an upsell tactic, but it left us feeling a bit disappointed.

While the food was tasty, the portions of chicken and mutton in the dishes didn’t quite justify the price. That said, the flavors were excellent, and we didn’t mind spending for the experience. However, I hope the staff will be more attentive and proactive in addressing customer requests and offering clear information during ordering in the future. It would make the dining experience...

Hello Team, I should have said this over there but I was too scared due to your way of handling the issue at first. So I went to eat here on 16th Jan 2022. We ordered mutton and chicken satti soru (They were so good, i wouldnt deny that) and added Sotong goreng priced at RM23 per plate. Yes it is priced due to the size of the sotong. my issue is when the sotong arrived we all were tempted to eat it but my bad, i cant swallow it -i keep chewing, chewing and at the end i ended up spitting it out. i called the waiter and informed, to deep fry it again and it will be all good to be eaten as it was extremely hard and chewy. but the waiter sent another man to take the squid and they apparently changed to a new plate- with same chewy and harder squid. this time it is more harder.
