Drove by this spot a few times, lured in by their promo banner —finally took the plunge! There werent a lot of ppl at the time we arrive so we were a bit skeptical at first. I asked a random diner outside if they'd recommend and they told us it was so-so but the crab was fresh. They also said it was quite good value as they got 2 XXXL crab for about RM198, add on RM10 per flavour if you wanted them to cook each one separately. With that, we decided to go ahead and give it a go. Oddly, this deal wasn’t on the menu—I think there is room for improvement, having these promos or prices on the menu will help customers understand whats available and probably increase orders coming through.
Ambience was rather comfortable for a crab place. Air conditioned, nice chairs, well lit.
But let’s talk CRAB. Freshness? 10/10—thick, sweet, juicy meat that practically moonwalked out of the shell. 🕺💃 Major win! The chilli crab sauce, though was rather meh compared to our usual haunt—good thing the crab itself carried the team like a crustacean MVP. We also ordered crab in the KongPao Butter sauce, now that was surpaingly good. It's got a distinct curry flavour to it, with a hint of tanginess, but with the buttery rich consistency of the butter sauce. I would say its a rather unique flavour which i rarely see at many crab eateries and I would definitely recommend it. I would even go as far to say that I would order it in place of creamy butter sauce because ita got all the goodness of the butter sauce but the added spice and subtly tangy flavour truly balances it out and make the entire dish come together really well, not to mention also that it makes it feel less 'jelak'.
Now, the Mantis Prawn with Salted Egg was a tasty sidekick. Their mantis prawn were actual pieces of mantis prawn. More often than not mantis prawn always ends up in disappointment as many places serve their mantis prawns chopped into tiny little morcels heavily coated in flour to appear larger than it really is. Here, its legit. You can chew and taste the actual mantis prawn.
Wr would have ordered more but there were only 2 of us and so much we could stomach.
Verdict? Freshness saves the day, but a clearer menu and sauce tweaks could make this place shell-abrate-worthy! Still, if you’re here for quality crab, you’re in good claws. I would come back again to try the other dishes.
I just hope that they can maintain their standards and continue serving the same quality and portion sizes. Its usually sad when new restaurants slowly start reducing portion sizes and quality as they get...
Read moreWhen I brought a cake into the restaurant, a few employees were whispering to each other. They mentioned that too many people were bringing cakes and asked if they could mark mine for easier identification later. I agreed, no problem.
As the previous review mentioned, the sweet and sour crab was too sweet and cold, and the pork ribs didn’t seem very fresh, they tasted off.
We waited a long time for our food. Despite being promised it would arrive soon, we had to ask four times before it was finally brought to the table.
To make matters worse, they brought out the post-meal fruit before the main dishes even arrived.
When I asked about the cake, they told us to pick it up ourselves, saying they couldn’t tell the cakes apart. If that’s the case, what was the point of marking them in the...
Read moreMisleading Promotion – Avoid This Restaurant!
This restaurant is running a fake promotion to lure customers. My family and I visited right at their opening time (5:30 PM) after seeing their "crab promotion" advertised on social media (clearly displayed on their banner). To our shock, the staff informed us that the promotional crab had already "sold out" - claimed to have been fully ordered by the one table seated before us.
How is it possible for a promotion to be completely unavailable the minute the restaurant opens? This is either false advertising or extremely poor management. We left immediately, feeling cheated and disappointed.
Advice to others: Don’t waste your time—this promotion seems like a scam to get people...
