Came here after peak lunch hour, around 3pm, it was very quiet with only 2 tables. Trying to have my first meal of the day, so I was reasonably hungry as I have not eaten for the whole day. Ordered Nasi lemak with fried chicken and ice cham. I was disappointed by how unfresh the nasi lemak was. It's the worst Nasi Lemak I have had for a long time. The chicken has a deposit of oil on the skin. It's stale, lukewarm and very dry, the battered skin was very thick and have absored all the unfresh oil, very unappetising. The nasi has a very heavy coconut milk aftertaste, definitely from packaging coconut milk and has been overused to make the taste overwhelming for me. The peanut is soft and the ikan bilis is soggy. The nasi lemak's only redeeming quality was the cucumber which doesn't require any cooking. I tried finishing it but still left quite a portion uneaten. As I have lost half of my appetite by then. For the cham drink, I asked for kurang manis (less sweet), they acknowledged it, but still served it super sweet. I understand the drink was premade but they could have diluted it with a bit of water or evaporated milk, which I am fine with that as I have asked for kurang manis. Upon finishing my food, I brought my table qr to counter to pay. Instead of paying attention to the work, the waiter was distracted by phone and told me that I have paid. After I have clarified with him that my table number was D2 not D12, just then he realised he keyed in the wrong table number. It feels like this restaurant chain is following Papa Rich's path. The food is bad, and the service is not better either. I would struggle to eat here again, and would rather get something fresh and nice from TTDI market. I will give 1 star for...
Read moreFirst time visiting, Ali Muthu & Ah Hock felt like it has been around for a long time with how memorable their restaurant name is, however it was often not enticing due to its premium pricing for seemingly normal Malaysian cuisine.
Recently in 2025, they were offering a RM6.8 Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (Dine-In Only) deal till Sep 16. The seemingly once very quiet restaurant boomed into many customers eager to get a slice of a good deal including us.
While we were able to find a seat quickly due to timing, we had to wait over 40 minutes for the food due to the sheer volume of orders. The staff were quite diligent and the orders were accurate despite how busy they were so props to them! 👏
When the Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng came we noticed a tag on it claiming the dish to be the most sold Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng in 2025 which amped up my expectations and honestly? It was quite good.
The chicken is well seasoned and the crispiness was noticable, it was easily worth it for this deal price. However with so many nasi Lemak competitors in the market this is just one of many good options so this offer was a good marketing campaign for them plus aside from the chicken everything else was just meh on the plate, even just the chicken as a dish alone would entice me to give better rating.
The drink was also quite decent and the atmosphere definitely gives up a modern but classy old town style kopitiam feel, definitely underated but the seats aren't comfortable for long hours.
Overall, a decent nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng but will worth the offering price.

Read moreWent to branch in TTDI w a small infant. Staff generally not very accommodating of me and my small infant plus not able to converse in either malay or English very well. Only in Malaysia... On top of mediocre service, the fried mee hoon I ordered was dry and not appetizing. Ordered sambal tumis to help w the flavour but it didn't help much. Very small pieces of chicken found in between the noodle after much rummaging around the dried strands. The noodle my maid ordered was also unremarkable. While I was looking around , wondering why I made a choice to eat her on what was otherwise a lovely Friday morning, I saw a cockroach which had passed on to the next life lying stiff near my slippers. I recall better tasting fried noodles during my boarding school days where food wa notoriously bad. I hate waste but I just can't bring myself to tapao these dried up noodle at home because it will just likely to sit at the back of the fridge till next Raya.
I leave you a photo of the half eaten noodle for your perusal...may it bring joy to other...
