As the restaurant is still new, there are still some minor issues with management, which can corrected through some experience. Waiters seem not so experienced handling big crowds, which is understandable as businesses are beginning to open post COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully waiters get more efficient in handling takeaway orders as well as tending to walk in customers. I’d definitely appreciate some signs on how to place takeaway orders, etc.

Inside the restaurant, the place is clean and very roomy. It’s a little too hot probably due to the under-capacity of the air conditioning units in the restaurants, an upgrade will be amazing.

Food quality, amazing as always. But I think all of us will deeply appreciate if they’re kitchen/dish washing is placed inside the restaurant instead of outside the restaurant by the alleyway, it’s unhygienic.

This restaurant deserves five stars if they fix their air conditioning, ensure the kitchen/dish washing areas are inside the restaurant, and better crowd control. I wish the restaurant owners all the best and good luck, you got yourself a very good business with a loyal customer base, fix the small issues and you’ve got...

When my friend said, "Let's go for 'thiruvizha sapaadu'" (festival meal), I had a different idea altogether. 'Thiruvizha sapaadu' is what you usually get in Indian temples during their annual festival. Oh boy, am I craving for that! *sighing longingly

Anyway, we ended up at this place, where they serve their rice meal 'thiruvizha' style, if I may say so. And it was awesommmmmeeee! I still crave for the real deal, but this is as close as it can get.

Both of us had a 3 pax portion of mutton curry meal (dont judge us. At the time, I hadn't eaten anything since lunch the day before, and my friend that whole day. We were starving), served on a shared banana leaf with cabbage (temple version usually have at least 3 veg dish).

The gravy was thick and spicy, and they were quite generous with the mutton portion; more meat than bone, which is good for me. Would have loved 2 extra pieces of potatoes, though....?

The price is, I would say, on the cheaper side, comparatively. It came to less than RM60, with drinks (also 3 glasses 😅). Plus, we had a 1-pax nasi tambah, no extra gravy. Again, don't judge us! 😋

Definitely will be going again to try the rest...

After reading most of the reviews and finally being there myself... These are my findings....

  1. presentation of their banana leaf rice (sepadu) is unique... No doubt about it..
  2. food taste is good... Not amazing... And have tasted amazing ones elsewhere...
  3. food quality is mediocre only... And have tasted amazing ones elsewhere too...
  4. service is still their main weakness ... Pretty horrible... Don't expect to get at least some services without calling them multiple times.... Making our dishes cold before our complete order arrives...
  5. food value isn't even worth the price.... Knowing that the conventional "banana leaf rice" has a free flow of white rice.... Side veges and all.... Here.. They charge you for everything.. White rice.... Plain water.... And even the Papadam.... Portions of their other dishes.... Varuval mutton... Egg... Ain't that big either...

Paying premium price for sub premium products and services is certainly not acceptable...

Returning in the near future will not likely...

IG: iamcynditravel XHS: cynditravel We enjoyed the food here and the portions were very filling. But we suggest that if you want to take two different dishes, expecting a different taste will be hard. Because their rice is spiced similarly in different claypot. They only change the meat when you order a separate claypot of different meat. So, if you're expecting a different taste, then it might disappoint. What we advise is to order a large one and share it together. It's very filling. Other than that, this branch offers more seats and more spaces for customers to visit. It's worth a visit for the food.

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they helped us with ordering from this excellent South Indian restaurant. Interesting clay pot style of preparing and serving food that we have never seen before (and we go a lot to Indian restaurants!). We had the rice pot and also curry with parottas (small fluffy and light naan). My children are not used to currys with whole spices or bone shards, but they managed just fine. The restaurant itself was fine, a little more ambiance would have been nice and the tables need to be cleaned so they are not sticky.
